Bottle Details

Les Pézerolles Pommard Premier Cru 1996

The Burgundian appellation of Pommard in the Côte-de-Beaune produces red wines from the Pinot Noir grape, with small quantities (up to 15%) of some white grapes permitted to be blended in.  Les Pézerolles is a Premier Cru vineyard located at the north of AOC Pommard and just south of the town of Beaune.

Confusingly, as is the way with a vast many Burgundian village wines, \"Les Pézerolles\" refers not to a specific estate, but to a single vineyard - which may be comprised multiple plots with multiple owners; the wine is made with grapes from the vineyard on behalf of the owners collectively.

1996 was an excellent vintage for the red wines of Burgundy, with some of the best wines still offering further maturation potential.
