Hanyu and Chichibu Ghost Series #8 / One of 26 Bottles

A blended malt of Chichibu and Hanyu created as part of Ghost Series. This bottling was created by Ichiro Akuto for \"Spirits for small change\", A bi-annual charity event that focuses on Whisky. This bottle was launched at the event held on the 3rd of July 2016.

Limited to only 26 bottles, two were opened and enjoyed at the event. One was raffled off and three were auctioned over the evening. The remaining 20 were sold at Malt City. All the original procedes from this bottling were used for Japanese children's charities. 

This is bottle number 12 of 26 bottles. 

Highland Park 1964 / Orcadian Vintage 

A truly remarkable Highland Park, distilled in 1964 this is the oldest release as part of their 'Orcadian Vintage Series'.

Released in 2009 this was a vatting of two hogsheads, casks #8737 and #8738 yielded only 290 bottles.  

The presentation as always with Highland Park is spectacular, a hard wood case with a silver Highland Park amulet logo inlay and a stunning black glass bottle.

Hanyu 1988 Ichiro's Malt 'Card' #7100 / Eight of Clubs​

Distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2011 from cask number 7100. 

Initially matured in hogshead prior to being finished in American oak puncheon.

Hanyu 2000 Ichiro's Malt 'Card' #9100 / Five of Hearts​

Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2008. 

Originally bottled in a hogshead then finished in a French oak Cognac cask.

Hanyu 1990 Ichiro's Malt 'Card' #9032 / Ten of Clubs​

Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2008 from single cask #9032.

Matured in a hogshead and finished in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Butt

Glenmorangie 1978 Pride

Distilled in 1978 this was matured for 19 years prior to being moved to Premier Grand Cru Claret wine casks for an additional 15 years, making this the longest \"finish\" a Glenmorangie has received. 

Presented in crafted presentation case and a Litre Baccarat decanter. 

This is Dr Bill Lumsden's Pride... a whisky master at the top of his game.

Yamazaki 25 Year Old

A limited edition of around 100 bottles celebrating Japanese hospitality. This whisky has been matured for 25 years in the finest Oloroso sherry casks.

The seal on the bottle is a Mizuhiki, a five corded knot symbolising the joining of hands.

Yamazaki 1986 Owner's Cask Mizunara Butt #6G5029

Single cask Yamazaki's are very rare and hard to find these days.

This single cask was distilled in 1986 and matured in a Mizunara butt #6G5029 until bottling in 2006. This was bottled for the 50th Anniversary of La Maison Du Whisky.

Glendronach 1968 25 Year Old / All Nippon Airways

There are a number of famous Glendronach's from 1968 and this is no different. This was a single cask bottled for Nippon Airways.

The original Glendronach 25 year old from 1968 was described by Serge Valentin as 'A tremendous sherry monster', and scored it 90 pts.

This single cask was distilled in 1986 and matured in a Mizunara butt #6B0021 until bottling in 2009.

Glenfarclas 1959 Family Cask #1819 Release X

The Family Cask range was launched early in 2007 with a cask for each year from 1952 until 1994.

This is the third release of the 1959 vintage, bottled on the 6th June 2012 after maturation in cask number #1819.

One of 131 bottles. 

Grand Cognac 1811 Fine Napoléon

An abosultely stunning old bottle of Cognac, carrying the vintage 1811, remarkably four years before Napoleon himself died.  

We unfortunately don't have alot of information for you on this remarkable cognac, it has survived for two centuries but unfortunately there is no record of the producer of this bottle.

1811 is described as a mythical year among wine enthusiasts, not only because of a comet which was visible by astronomers at the time for 17 months.  Many ascribed the extraordinary weather this year to the Comet, historically during the months of September and October 1811, when the grapes would have been harvested, the comet was clearly visible to the naked eye.  Apparently it illuminated the night sky at one point the diameter exceeded the diameter of the sun. It was taken as sign of supernatural blessing on the harvest, which henceforth was known as “The Comet Vintage” 

This is all historical heresay but this 1811 bottle does represent an amazing time in history.  It was not only the year that the town of Cognac received Napoleon, but also the year that his second wife, Marie Louise gave birth to his son. The following year, Napoleon began his disastrous campaign against Russia.

It is hard to believe that a cognac that was made in honour of Napoleon, while he was still alive still exists today.

Please note we can't see inside of this bottle due to the sediment on the outside, however we would estimate the fill level to be approximately three quarters full.  Overall condition is as shown in the images.  We have attempted to provide authenticity of this bottle but the current owner has owned this for approximately 30 years, beyond that we do not have a record and the item is bought at your own risk.

Glendronach 1971 Single Cask 41 Year Old #1247

Distilled on 25th of Febuary 1971 and bottled in June 2012, this was fully matured in cask number 1247 which was a Pedro Ximinez Sherry Pucheon.

Bottle number 525 of 529 bottles.

Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2016

Matured in Oloroso sherry casks, aged between 12 and 15 years old and even 25 years old, blended together with older single malt stock by chief blender Shinji Fukuyo.

This bottling is the follow up to the famous 2013 release which won 'Best Whisky in the World' according to Jim Murray and his Whisky Bible.

5000 bottles were produced which is less than third of the quantity of the previous release of Yamazaki Sherry Cask, of which there were approximately 16,000 bottles.

Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Rare Collection

A fantastic 40 year old, produced by Glenfiddich.  Selected by Glenfiddich's Malt Master who hand selects individual casks before marrying them together with what was left over from the previous 40 Year Old vatting; a process known as ‘remnant vatting’, Glenfiddich claim to be the only distillery to use such a process. This is the 9th batch. 

This bottling is number 562 of 600.

As with so many malts of this age it is presented in an elegant bottle and presentation case made of hand-stitched calf-leather.

Please note the suede lining has come away at certain areas.

Highland Park 20 Year Old Rebus

Ian Rankin's fictional Detective Rebus has been solving Edinburgh crimes for 20 years, this bottle was released in 2007 to celebrate this. 

Rankin specially selected this cask and the author and special friends were given the bottles as gifts, it was never available for purchase. 

A 20 year old Highland Park presented in an excellently crafted wooden box. 

One of the most rare and collectable Highland Parks available. 

One of only 150 bottles.

Glenfarclas 1956 50 Year Old / For Friends Edition No.2

An extraordinary bottle of Glenfarclas. Presonally selected and bottled for Hans \"George\" Wuersching to celebrate his 50th Anniversary on September 15th.

Distilled on the 5th June 1956 and bottled on the 15th September 2006 after being laid to rest for over 50 years.

Glendronach 1968 25 Year Old

There are a number of famous Glendronach's from 1968 and this is no different. Originally bottled for the US market - a few went missing and were eventually discovered in a warehouse and sold here. 

This is the original Glendronach 25 year old from 1968, which Serge Valentin from Whisky Fun explains is 'A tremendous sherry monster', scoring 90 pts.
