Benrinnes 1996 Managers' Choice

The Managers' Choice releases were quite controversial when initially released, fairly young whiskies with quite high price tags. With the changes in the industry and age statements becoming less and less common perhaps these can be considered quite reasonable now.

Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2009 from single cask # Z10552 this is bottle number 278.

A Laphroaig bottled by Scotch Malt Whisky Society, 

Distilled in October 1997 and matured in a refill ex-bourbon hogshead.

A bottling of Ron Swanson and Jonny Depp's favourite, Lagavulin 16 year old, complete with the White Horse on the label making this early 1990's bottle an especially rare version.

In 1890, 5 families from the north of Spain, each passionate about wines, established the Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta - The Wine Society of the Rioja Alta.  A few years later, in 1904, one of these founding-members proposed the merger of his Ardanza winery with the society and thus the creation of La Rioja Alta S.A.

The \"904\" range is today one of LRA's flagship wines, second only to the exquisite \"890\" - both of which being released only on exceptional years.  This \"Reserva 904\" is the predecessor to the current \"Gran Reserva 904\" and as such is no longer part of LRA's range.  The wine is from the 1964 vintage, a blend of Tempranillo (90%) with Graciano (10%) which has been matured for 4 years in American oak barrels.

Laphroaig 1999 SMWS 16 Year Old 29.177

Otherwise known as 'Mind-wandering', SMWS label their whiskies depending on the tasting notes and comments provided from their tasting panels.

This Laphroaig was distilled on 1st July 1999 and bottled as a 16 year old, only 180 bottles were released.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Ileach Edition Feis Ile 2011

Introducing 2011s Feis Ile offering to the Cairdeas collection of whiskies from Laphroaig.  

This particular Cairdeas is named the 'Ileach Edition' after John Campbell gained the position of Master Distiller, the first Islay native to hold this position at Laphroaig.

Haig's Gold Label 1950s

A bottle of Gold Label from Haig released during the 1950s or early 1960s.

The Haig family had a long history of distilling going back as far as the 15th Century. Since 1824 when Cameronbridge distillery was opened by John Haig, Haig has been a big brand in the whisky world. As part of a distilling dynasty John Haig became important in the regulation of Whisky production and was a spokesman for the industry. Although the brand began to shrink in the 1970s, in the last year it has seen a healthy revival with the help of Mr Posh Spice David Beckham.

This is a duty paid sample for trade purposes...  

This 1998 vintage Hazelburn, essentially triple distillery Springbank was matured in a fresh bourbon barrel. 

Laphroaig Cairdeas Feis Ile 2014 

The Cairdeas for 2014 is a Laphroaig that has been double matured first in \"first fill\" ex-bourbon casks then in Amontillado hogsheads for one year.

Laphroaig 21 Year Old Friends of Laphroaig 35cl

Ths is a 21 year old Laphroaig exclusivley available to the Friends of Laphroaig to celebrate the fan clubs 21st year. 

Distilled in 1993 then matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks.

Highland Park 1987 Gordon and MacPhail Cask Strength

A cask strength bottling of Highland Park by Gordon and MacPhail.

Distilled in June 1987 and October 1987, a number of casks were bottled at full strength june 1987.

Longrow 2006 Duty Paid Sample 9 Year Old / First Fill Sherry Hogshead

An official bottling of heavily peated Springbank, supposedly for trade purposes, but available to anyone at the distillery. 

Distilled on the 13th October 2006 and bottled at 9 years of age.

Originally only available to 'Friends of the Classic Malts' this limited Lagavulin has been triple matured using refill casks, American oak hogsheads and finally European Oak refill casks.

Limited to approximately 4,500 bottles.

Longmorn 1987 Cask Strength 17 Year Old Batch #003

Originally only available at the Chivas distilleries this cask strength bottle of Longmorn was distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2005 at 17 years old.

Batch No LM 18 003.
