Ardbeg Auriverdes Gold Edition

The new and shiny Ardbeg Auriverdes, launched on 31st May 2014 on 'Ardbeg Day' which coincides with the 'Ardbeg Day' with the Islay Festival.  

A very rare bottle, this Auriverdes was never made available to the public, it was only given to Journalists, Bloggers and Distillery Ambassadors before the official release at the end of May 2014.

The Auriverdes (Auri = Gold and Verdes = Green) is named after the Brazilian sports teams colours whilst also referring to Ardbeg's iconic green bottle and the 'golden' whisky inside.  

This particular example come with an interesting bottle stand and a Medium Ardbeg Day 2015 T-Shirt (Which lights up!). 

Lagavulin 1976 30 Year Old

A highly sought after bottle of Lagavulin, the oldest official release until the 37 year old from the same vintage came along.

Distilled in 1976 and released within Diageo's Super Premium selection back in 2006.

Limited to 2,340 bottles.

The seventh of the incredibly popular Port Ellen annual releases.  Distilled in 1979 and bottled 28 years later in 2007, bottled at cask strength and limited to 5274 bottles, this is bottle 3695.

Lochside 1966 Signatory Vintage 40 Year Old

Old vintages of Lochside are increasingly rarer and rarer, the distillery was founded in 1957 however single malt examples only date from the early 1960s.  The distillery also produced grain whiskies, allowing the malt and grain from this lost distillery to increase in demand and become highly sought after. This is a fantastic example of Lochside, distilled in the mid 1960s from Signatory Vintage.

Distilled on 22nd December 1966 and matured in a single sherry hogshead until bottling on 29th June 2007.  This exceptional cask #7536 yielded only 213 bottles of which this is number 166.

Port Ellen 1978 29 Year Old 8th Release

The eighth of the incredibly popular Port Ellen annual releases. Distilled in 1978 and bottled 29 years later in 2008, bottled at cask strength and limited to 6,618 bottles, this is bottle 0394.

Distilled in September 1982 and bottled in August 2013 by Hunter Laing.

Bottle number 28 of only 60 bottles.

Laphroaig 32 Year Old

One of several new Laphroaig's released to commemorate their 200th anniversary, 1815 to 2015.

This latest release is one of the oldest ever from Laphroaig, matured for 32 years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks this has been incredibly popular at retail selling out almost immediately.

Only 5,880 bottles were produced.

Powell Turner 1869 Grande Fine Champagne Cognac

A Grande fine Champagne cognac distilled in 1869 and bottled by Powell Turner and Co of London, England. 

There are six grape-growing regions in Cognac, and the two considered the best are called Grande Champagne and Petit Champagne. A Cognac called \"Fine Champagne\" is made from grapes from both regions, at least 50% from Grande Champagne.

Port Ellen Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #1

The first batch of Port Ellen from that Boutique-y Whisky Company. 

This label shows Fiddler's in Drumnadrochit proprietor Jon Beach. He is one of the world's most avid Port Ellen fans and here he is holding sherbet lemons and chamois leather, two very common Port Ellen tasting notes.

Lagavulin 1978 Cadenhead's Cask Strength

Lagavulin bottled as long ago as this is highly sought after.  Very few independent bottlings exist from this famous Islay distillery, Cadenhead's have been lucky to bottle a few.  

This 1978 vintage from single cask #129 was bottled by Cadenhead's at an impressive 64.9%.

One of the two Rare Malt releases by Diageo, this particular 20 year old was distilled in 1978 and bottled in October 1998.
