Laphroaig 40 Year Old

Distilled in 1960, this 40 year old was the official release following the 1960 vintage 40 year old at Oddbins.

The casks were matured in Warehouse #1 for 40 years, prior to bottling on 29th May 2001.  A mere 3,300 bottles of this Laphroaig 40 year old were made available and it remains the oldest official release of Laphroaig to date.

This is bottle number 1426.

Brora 1970 Douglas Laing 32 Year Old

This is one of only two casks ever bottled from 1970 a year of particularly low production (apparently), it is particularly sought after as no other bottling of Brora exists (that carries the name 'Brora') from before 1970.  Doulgas Laing were fortunate enough to bottle two casks, this 32 year old and another two years later as a 34 year old.

Distilled in 1970 and bottled in 2002 as a 32 year old, only 297 bottles were released and bottled at cask strength.

Please note there is a little mark on the front label and some minor 'glue' residue on the front of the box, overall condition is excellent!

Brora 30 Year Old 2006 Release

The fourth release of 30 year old Brora released as part of the 'special release' series in 2006 by Diageo.

Bottle 2991 of 3000 bottles.

Please note, there is some rust on the lid and inside the box.

Bowmore 1981 28 Year Old

Bowmore 1981 is the first in Bowmore's Vintage Series, distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2010.

Only 402 bottles were produced, includes certificate of authenticity.

Lagavulin 1979 Distillers Edition

A litre bottle of the first ever distiller's edition which was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997.

Finished in Pedro Ximenez casks.

Lg 4/463.

Please note the lid is no longer attached and there is tape on the bottom of the box.

Brora 30 Year Old 2009 Release

The 2009 release of Brora was rated very highly by John Hansell of The Whisky Advocat, of course we know what you are thinking.....it's Brora they are all rated very highly!

Yamazaki 1996 Single Sherry Cask #AX70015

We have not seen many official single cask Yamazaki's at auction, perhaps unsuprisingly the whisky is reknowned for being exceptional.

Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2011 from a single sherry butt, matured in Ohmi Aging Cellar.

Cask AX 70015 , this is bottle number 180.

Brora 1981 Duncan Taylor 25 Year Old

A single cask bottling of Brora released by Duncan Taylor in their Rare Auld cask strength series.

Distilled in November 1981 and bottled 25 years later in February 2007, from single cask #1423.

This is bottle number 608 of 682.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #7 (Travel Retail Exclusive)

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

The expression has been exclusively created for the travel retail market and consists of the casks shown below.

This small batch release was matured exclusively in first fill Sherry casks.

Octomore Discovery Feis Ile 2014 

Perhaps the most desirable of the new Feis Ile releases, this is the first time Bruichladdich has released an Octomore for Feis Ile and it is incredibly limited with only 1,695 bottles being released.

Distilled on the 18th February 2007 and bottled for the 2014 Bruichladdich Open Day at Feis Ile, with a very impressive abv of 69.5%

Octomore Discovery Feis Ile 2014

Balmenach 12 Year Old Flora and Fauna (Wooden Box)

One of the most desirable of the Flora and Fauna series, the tasty Balmenach was released as a 12 year old, this bottle is presented with a wooden box.

Distillerys Company Ltd (DCL/Diageo) created the Flora and Fauna series in the early 1990s, when DCL sold the distillery to Inverhouse distillers this bottle was discontinued.

Laphroaig 1989 23 Year Old

A vintage Laphroaig released for the Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish markets.  

Distilled in 1989 and bottled 23 years later, only 1,800 bottles were released.

Linkwood 1972 Rare Malt 23 Year Old 75cl

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Linkwood distilled in 1972 and released as a 23 year old within the Rare Malts Selection, this falls within the B297 versions bottled at 75cl, and becomes a  particularly rare Linkwood.

A bottling of Ron Swanson and Jonny Depp's favourite, Lagavulin 16 year old, complete with the White Horse on the label making this early 1990's bottle an especially rare version.

Released annually to coincide with Lagavlin’s sponsorship of the Islay Jazz Festival, this particular release was distilled on 19^th January 1995 and bottled in 2013.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Dufftown-Glenlivet distilled in 1975 and bottled as a 21 year old, this is bottle number 2022.

Lagavulin 1995 Jazz Festival 2013

Released annually to coincide with Lagavlin’s sponsorship of the Islay Jazz Festival, this particular release was distilled on 19^th January 1995 and bottled in 2013.

The Best Collection of Malt - Part One and Part Two Valentino Zagatti

Two absolutely must read books, essential for anyone interested in collecting or studying scotch whisky.

Written by Valentino Zagatti, owner of one of the largest collections of whiskies in the world (until recently) and perhaps one of the most interesting characters to come out of the world of whisky collecting.  It was announced recently that his entire collection was sold with an undisclosed sum.

Published in 1999 and 2004 respectively.

Bowmore Devil's Cask 10 Year Old

Released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves.  The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, It was very limited, with only 540 bottles available in the UK and no more than 6,000 worldwide.
