Karuizawa 1984 30 Year Old Single Cask #8173

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim, this one perhaps more than most!

It is amazing that we still see single casks of Karuizawa being released, this 1984 vintage was bottled earlier this year as a 30 year from an ex-bourbon cask.

Only 363 bottles were produced and sold exclusively by La Maison Du Whisky, Paris.

Karuizawa 1984 SMWS 132.1 28 Year Old

Like all Karuizawa's this has become incredibly sought after, the first bottling of Karuizawa for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Otherwise known as 'Secret Moonlight Garden Dram'.

This Karuizawa was distilled on 30th August 1984 and bottled as a 28 year old, matured exclusively in a single refill ex-sherry butt yielded 229 bottles.

Karuizawa 1981 30 Year Old Single Cask #6207

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim.

Another cracking single cask from Karuizawa, distilled in 1981  and bottled 30 years later on the 5th September 2011.

543 bottles were released from this single sherry butt.

Karuizawa 17 Year Old

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim.

This Karuizawa is presented in a stunning decanter produced by the original owners of Karuizawa, Mercian Wine Company.  The whisky is matured  between 17 and 31 years of age and a combination of peated and unpeated spirit.

A truly remarkable bottle from this legendary lost Japanese distillery.

Karuizawa 1993 Jazz Club 12 Year Old

So many Karuizawa's are presented in exciting labels, this bottle was released for Tokyo Jazz Club.

Distilled on 19th April 1993 and bottled on the 14th October 2006 from a single sherry cask #2501.

This is bottle number 345 of 492.

Yamazaki 1996 Single Sherry Cask #AX70015

We have not seen many official single cask Yamazaki's at auction, perhaps unsuprisingly the whisky is reknowned for being exceptional.

Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2011 from a single sherry butt, matured in Ohmi Aging Cellar.

Cask AX 70015 , this is bottle number 180.

This 'Dark, Mysterious and Seductive' Karuizawa was distilled on 21st July 1993 and bottled as a 20 year old in 2013.  

A single refill ex-sherry butt yielded 344 bottles.

Clynelish 1972 Douglas Laing 30 Year Old

Bottled by Douglas Laing, this Clynelish was distilled in November 1972 and bottled in July 2003.

Only 126 bottles produced.

Please note there has been slight wear and tear to the box, overall condition is excellent.

Karuizawa 1996 SMWS 132.4 17 Year Old

Otherwise known as 'Stunning Panaorama of Exotic Fruits'.

This Karuizawa was distilled on 4th September 1999 and bottled as a 17 year old in 2013.  

A single refill ex-sherry butt yielded 346bottles.

Karuizawa Cask Strength 3rd Release

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market.  

The 3rd release is a blend of vintages from 1999 and 2000, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2013.

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market.  

The 4th release is a blend of vintages from 1999 and 2000, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2013.

Karuizawa 1999 SMWS 132.5 14 Year Old

Otherwise known as 'Sweet and Darkly Beguiling'.

This Karuizawa was distilled on 25th June 1999 and bottled as a 14 year old in 2013.  

A single refill ex-sherry butt yielded 495 bottles.

Karuizawa Cask Strength 4th Release

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market.  

The 4th release is a blend of vintages from 1999 and 2000, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2013.

Karuizawa 2000 SMWS 132.6 12 Year Old

Perhaps slightly more bizarre this whisky is otherwise known as 'Nite Nurse Nipped by Piranhas'.

Distilled on 31st December 2000 and bottled in 2013 this 12 year old Karuizawa was matured in a refill ex-sherry butt yielding 553 bottles.

Coleburn 1979 Rare Malt 21 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Coleburn was distilled in 1979 and bottled as a 21 year old at 59.40%.

Caol Ila 1975 20 Year Old Rare Malt (US Import)75cl

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1975 and bottled in 1995 as a 20 year old, there were eight releases of Caol Ila under the Rare Malt Selection.   This is a 75cl bottled at 61.12% for the US market, this is bottle number 1457.

Please note there was no box for this release.

Constantino's Colheita 1910 

A lovely old bottle of Port produced by Constantino.

Sociedade dos Vinhos do Porto Constantino was founded in 1877 by Constantino de Almeida who purchased two key vineyards at this time; Quinta do Crastro and Quinta de Sobreira.  Followhing Constantino de Almeida's death in 1922 the house fell into his three sons hands and became well known as a prestigous port wine company. Eventuall, in 1958 the port house was merged with the famous Hunt Roope & Co group (established 1650) which had recently been purchased by Ferreira and consqeuently Sogrape.

Colheita is single vintage tawny port matured for a number of years (usually) in wood, now-a-days these bottlings carry the date at which the port was bottled, unfortunately we don't have this information for this item.  Colheita, Portugese for 'harvest' or 'vintage' legally requires the port to be matured for no less than seven years but in some cases extends well beyond this.

The second single cask bottling from Kilchoman for M&P Poland.

Distilled on 2nd October 2008 and matured exclusively in cask 496/2008 a bourbon cask until 18th November 2013.  

This is bottle number 1 of 264.

Caol Ila 1998 Feis Ile 2013

Release in June 2013 for the annual Feis Ile, this Caol Ila was specially selected by Billy Stitchell.

Bottle number 0584 of 3,000

Billy said this about how the whisky matured:

“Spirit distilled in 1998 has been triple-cask matured. For 12 years it rested in a combination of Refill Butts, Hogsheads and Barrels. The vatted whisky was then allowed to mature for several months in active hogshead casks to impart a spicy/oaky note to the existing delicate Caol Ila smoke. Finally it was treated to a final gentle maturation in European oak.”

Caol Ila 2000 Feis Ile 2011

Released for the annual Feis Ile, in 2011 this Caol Ila was hand selected by Billy Mitchell and was matured in sherry cask 301696.

Kilchoman Loch Gorm First Edition

The hugely popualr first release of Loch Gorm sold out very quickly, matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry Butts for 5 years and a further 2 months in Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads.

Limited to only 10,000 bottles.

Caperdonich 1998 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in September 1998 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail in August 2011 this 12 year old Caperdonich was matured in refill sherry hogsheads.
