Balvenie 17 Year Old Islay Cask

Released in 2003, this was the very first of the Balvenie 17 Year Old expressions.

''In the making of The Balvenie Islay Cask, David Stewart selected Balvenie single malt which had matured in traditional oak casks for at least 17 years and transferred it into 94 casks which had previously held Islay single malt. After six months he felt the casks had imparted the desired delicate amount of peaty notes, typical of Islay, whilst retaining the distinctively honeyed character of The Balvenie.''

Only 94 casks were ever used.

Balvenie 1980 Single Barrel 15 Year Old #12478 / bottled at 16 Year Old 1 Litre

The highly sought after Balvenie Single Barrel 15 Year Old always carries a great deal of information on the label.

Distilled on 24th Novemeber 1980 and bottled on 30th December 1996, this is bottle number 71 from single cask #12478. Although labelled at 15 years old, this was actually bottled after 16.

The Balvenie 21 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish was matured in traditional oak whisky casks for more than 20 years, then transferred to casks previously used in the production of fortified Madeira wine for a further period of maturation.

Another 'Tun' release from Balvenie following the footsteps of Balvenie Tun 1401 and 1858.

This larger Tun can hold up to four times as much liquid as Tun 1401 and hence we expect a larger quantity of this release.  This release is a combination of 32 casks, 18 traditional American oak barrels, 5 american oak hogsheads, 7 European oak sherry butts and 2 sherry hogsheads. These were married in tun 1509 for several months before bottling.

This is a Douglas Laing bottling of Bowmore, part of their Xtra Old Particular series. XOP is their ultra-premium range, launched in 2013 and reserved for casks considered the \"family jewels.\"

Distilled on Islay in November 1989 and bottled in December 2014 from one refill hogshead #10581.

Bottle number 289 of only 576 bottles.

A very rare bottling of Bushmills, this 21 year was matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks before being finished in Madeira casks.
