Arran Millennium Casks

A memorable mix of 10 sherry hogsheads and 35 bourbon barrels, the Arran Millennium casks were distilled and filled into these casks on the 31^st December 1999 and 1^st January 2000. 

A limited release of 7,800 bottles.

Arran The Bothy Quarter Cask Batch #1

An Arran matured in smaller quarter casks. These smaller casks have more wood contact creating more flavour. Bottled in September 2015. One of 12,000 bottles. 

The Arran Single Malt selected for \"The Bothy\" was initially matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred for secondary maturation into smaller American oak casks for a minimum of 18 months. This process created greater contact between the Whisky and the oak and a much more intense maturation. The end result is a full-bodied expression of the Arran Malt, combing power and finesse full of rich vanilla sweetness and  bold peppery spice. Bottling at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or artificial colouring presents this Whisky in its purest form.

Filled 23rd September 1996 and bottled on the 30th November 2015.

Ardbeg Guaranteed 10 Year Old 1970s Miniature

A very rare, highly sought after bottle of Ardbeg 10 year old, originally available in the 1970s.

The Ardberg Distillery lies on the most Southernly part of Islay and on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Ardberg is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex whisky of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat: rather the peat gives way to the malt, the natural sweetness of which subtly intrudes, producing perfect balance.

Batch 2 of Arran's popular cask strength 12 year old.  

Released in September 2012 and limited to 13,200 bottles.

Arran Robert Burns 250th Anniversary Edition 1998

A 1998 vintage Arran bottled in 2009 to mark the 250th birthday of our nations bard, endorsed by the World Burns Federation.

6,000 bottles were produced.

A more recent edition of Oban Distiller's Edition.

Each distillery in Diageo's Distillers Edition is double matured in a unique Wine cask choosen specifically to enchance that distillery's best characteristics.

Oban uses Montilla Fino sherry wood.

Aberlour A'bunadh Batch #50

Aberlour a`bunadh is produced in the tradition of 19th century single malts from an era when villagers would come to the distillery to collect their dram straight from the cask,often in apothecary bottles obtained from the village chemist. Indeed these bottles are the inspiration for the a`bunadh bottle shape today.

Matured exclusively in Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry butts, the rarest and most precious casks used for maturation and bottled at cask strength, a`bunadh possesses an unrivalled aromatic intensity. A richer mouth fill and flavour complexity is achieved by bottling without the use of modern day chill filtering methods.

Aberlour A'bunadh is bottled using only first fill Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #50 released in 2015.

This was awarded 95.5% by Jim Murray in his 2016 book with the comment \"Ladies and Gentlemen of Aberlour, I raise my glass to you in celebration\". 

Ardbeg Uigeadail

Uigedail is the name of the loch which feeds Ardbeg distillery. Uigedail has become a much loved whisky, having gained recognition in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible winning ‘World Whisky of the Year’ in 2009.

Distilled in 1995 and was first released only to Founder’s Bondholders in 2001.

A well aged whisky from this Lowland distillery bottled by Whisky Broker.

 Ardbeg 10 Year Old

They don't get much peatier than Ardbeg. This is a bottle of their beloved 10 year old.

Ardberg is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex whisky of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat: rather the peat gives way to the malt, the natural sweetness of which subtly intrudes, producing perfect balance. 

Typically most whiskies are chill-filtered and reduced to a strength of 40% abv. Ardberg Ten Years Old, however, is Non Chill-Filtered and has a strength of 46% abv, thus retaining maximum Flavour, at the same time giving more body and added depth. On adding water a little cloudiness may occur which is Perfectly Natural and is not a matter for concern.

This is an earlier LVMH bottle from the early - mid 2000s.

Ailsa Bay Single Malt

One of the first official single malt bottlings of Ailsa Bay, William Grants & Sons large relatively unheard of lowland distillery located at their Girvan grain distillery. A uniquely distilled and meticulously balanced single malt whisky from Scotlands Ayrshire coast.

This has been peated to 21ppm. 

Arran 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch #5

Batch 5 of Arran's popular cask strength 12 year old. Released in May 2015 and limited to 18,000 bottles.

The Isle of Arran Distillery was opened on 29th June 1995 in the village of Lochranza, on the North-west tip of Arran, and remains the only whisky producer on the island.

Double-distilled from un-peated malt, the Arran Single Malt is matured in both ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. The result is a fuller bodied dram with a delightful sweet-fruity character that shows maturity far beyond its years.

Abadia Dry Gin

A Portuguese gin named for Alcobaca abbey. This bottle is thought to date from the 1960s.

Released in September 2013 and limited to 15,000 bottles.

AnCnoc Rutter

Knochdhu distillery normally produces light mellow spirit, these newer expressions are named after peat cutting tools and have a flavour to match. 

The bottle clearly shows the PPM (phenol parts per million) of the liquid in the bottle which when tasted may force you to re-evaluate what you think you know about peatiness. 

The Rutter is 11ppm but still packs a big peaty flavour. 

AnCnoc Cutter
