Laphroaig 1960 Vintage Reserve 40 Year Old

A vintage release of Laphroaig distilled in 1960 and bottled as a 40 year old. Laphroaig this age is incredibly rare!

Distilled in 1960 and presented with a certificate from distillery manager Iain Henderson, the casks were matured for 40 years in warehouse #1. This is the first release from Oddbins and the far more limited of the two. 

This is bottle 016 of 300.

Laphroaig 40 Year Old

Distilled in 1960, this 40 year old was the official release following the 1960 vintage 40 year old at Oddbins.

The casks were matured in Warehouse #1 for 40 years, prior to bottling on 29th May 2001.  A mere 3,300 bottles of this Laphroaig 40 year old were made available and it remains the oldest official release of Laphroaig to date.

Nikka 40 Year Old

This is Nikka's oldest stock including 1945 Yoichi and 1969 Miyagikyo. With over 65% malt content this is Nikka's ultimate premium product. 

Presented in a crafted wooden box with a branded glass. 

One of only 700 bottles.

Laphroaig 80 Proof / 20 Under Proof Miniature 1960s

This is about as rare a miniature as you can find, dated to 1966 kindly by Marcel Van Gils and Hans Offringa Legend of Laphroaig's book, this is a wonderfully preserved miniature of Laphroaig.

The label reads, Old Scotch Whisky Laphroaig 80 Proof.

Strength is 20 under proof.

This has been stored within an exceptional collection of miniatures. A very very rare item we are excited to offer this in our latest auction, particularly alongside another stunning example of Laphroaig's history, in miniature - a 1960s bottling of Islay Mist.

Lagavulin 1979 Distillers Edition / First Release

A bottle of the first ever distillers edition which was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997.

Finished in Pedro Ximenez casks.

Ladyburn 1973 27 Year Old Single Cask

The Ladyburn Distillery was built in 1966 by William Grant & Sons Ltd and only operated for a very short period until November 15th 1975.  

Their have been very few bottlings from Ladyburn, this official single cask release is part of 18 single casks from 1973 bottled in 2000, a release totaling 3,000 bottles. Each individual bottle carries the bottling number and cask it originated from.

This is bottle number 125 from cask number 3177. 

The first ever Single Cask bottling from Ladyburn.

Longmorn Centenary 25 Year Old​

A unique release of Longmorn bottled to commemorate the centenary of Longmorn distillery in 1995.

This bottle was never made available to the general public, they were given to employees and dignitaries of the company.

Lagavulin 1978 Kingsbury's 14 Year Old

This was bottled by Kingsbury who mostly export to Japan, they are a widely sought after independant bottler, with many amazing vintage whiskies from the 1990s.

This 1978 vintage Lagavulin, was distilled on the 1st December and bottled in 1992 from a single ex-Bourbon cask which yielded only 132 bottles.

Please note that this bottle was received with some minor leakage, which Whisky Auctioneer is not responsible for in further transit.  Please also pay close attention to the images for the condition of this lot.

Distilled in 1991 and personally selected by Iain McArthur, a warehouseman at Lagavulin with over 40 years experience. Then bottled exclusively for the Feis Ile in 2015.

One of the very, very few independent bottlings of Ayrshire/Ladyburn.The distillery only produced for a very short period between 1966 nd 1975.

Distilled in October 1973 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in November 2004.

This edition was finished in Oloroso sherry. 

North Port 1979 Rare Malt 20 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This North Port was distilled in 1979 and bottled 20 years later in October 1999.

As this iconic Islay distillery hits its 200th anniversary, the Feis Ile 2016 bottle serves a double purpose as both a birthday celebration bottle and a festival bottle. 

Matured in refill American oak hogsheads and European oak ex-bodega sherry butts, this was a release of 6,000 bottles.

Lochvanna Cocktail Old Matured Circa 1960s

A very rare spirit drink produced by A Gillies & Co Distillers, who once owned Glen Scotia distillery.

The label states that it's produced under the most rigid hygienic conditions and is thoroughly matured. From a medical point of view it is indispensable in the home for being a perfect stimulant and valuable nerve tonic.

There is then an analysts report confirming that it meets FDA regulations.
