Caol Ila 2000 MacBeatha 3rd Edition

A private bottling of Caol Ila by Kilchoman distillery.

Distilled in October 2000 and bottled in May 2008 from a single hogshead, 322 bottles produced.

Please note this appears not to be the original tube, as the incorrectly displayed abv of 54.3% suggests this to be from an earlier edition.

Viña Pomal 1969 Rioja Crianza 2x75cl

Viña Pomal is one of the cellars owned by Bodegas Bilbainas, located by the historic wine-town of Haro in the northwest of the Rioja Alta subregion.

This wine is of Crianza classification, 100% Tempranillo, aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, from the 1969 vintage.

Originally created in 1910 to honour the relationship Courvoisier had with France's first emperor.

Château Meyney 1982 Saint-Estèphe

Château Meyney is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc peninsula.  Dating from 1662, as a convent of the Feuillants monks, the first vines were planted alongside the banks of the River Gironde.  Despite this age, Ch. Meyney was not categorised within the famous 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (25%) and Petit Verdot (10%), from the absolutely exceptional 1982 vintage.

Château Mouton-Baronne-Philippe Pauillac 1979

The history of Château d'Armailhac hails back to vineyards first planted in 1750 by Dominique Armailhac.  The vineyards are located within the Bordeaux appellation of Pauillac, and were granted Fifth-Growth Grand-Cru status in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.  The estate has been known by various different names including, from 1979-88, Château Mouton-Baronne-Philippe.  The estate has been owned by the Rothschild's since 1934.

The wine is a classic Bordeaux-blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (approximately 55%), Merlot (~30%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot.

Compass Box The Peat Monster

Compass Box's big full flavoured peaty blended malt . . . apparently it’s a bit of a monster. Created from Islay malts and peated Highland Malts.

Caves Monte Crasto London Dry Gin 

London Dry is a style of gin named for where it was first created, and so does not have Protected Geographical status.  Indeed many London Dry Gins are distilled outside of London, as is the case in this old gin, distilled by Caves Monte Crasto in the Dão region of Portugal.

Crawford's Five Star Blended Scotch Whisky 1970s

A & A Crawford was a whisky blender and merchant which established in Leith in 1860, now belonging to Whyte and Mackay's portfolio.

We estimate the is bottle to be from the 1970s.

Cragganmore 1985 Distillers Edition

Diageo's Distillers Edition bottlings add an extra dimension to each of the Classic Malt's by finishing each one in a specific type of wine cask.

Cragganmore is finished in cask which once contained Port.

The particular bottling was distilled in 1985.

Corby's Reserve American Blended Whiskey 

A premium blended whiskey from America, this bottling we believe to be from around the 1980s.

Connemara 1992 Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey

This is Irish single malt distilled in August 1992 and bottled in March 2006.

A & A Crawford was a whisky blender and merchant which established in Leith in 1860, now belonging to Whyte and Mackay's portfolio.

The deluxe 5 Star Blend bottled at 12 year old which was launched in the 1920s and followed the success of the 3 star offering, now discontinued.

Viña Tondonia Reserva 1983

Bodegas López de Heredia is located by Haro, in the heart of the Rioja Alta region.  One of the first 3 commercial wine houses to be built, the history and success of the region and the estate are closely linked.

Viña Tondonia is one of the cellars of the renowned Rioja estate, Bodegas López de Heredia.  A blend of Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo together contributing only 10%, aged in oak barrels for 6 years.

Château La Grave à Pomerol 1986 Trigant De Boisset

Another Pomerol appellation estate and winery owned by Christian Moueix (of Château Petrus). The estate was formely known as Trigant De Boisset, but Moueix changed the name to Château La Grave in 1986 in recognition of the gravely soils (as those in the Grave appellation) which gave the estate its distinctive character.

The wines of Château La Grave à Pomerol are a blend of Merlot (typically about 85%) and Cabernet Franc. 1986 was another good year for Bordeaux red wines, with some of the best still offering further ageing potential.

Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye

The Best Whisky in the world as declared by self proclaimed panel of expert and author of The Whisky Bible Jim Murray. 

As for the liquid it is a blended Canadian whisky that is made up of 90% rye. 

Feel free to make your own opinion as to if its the greatest whisky in the world.

Originally released for the Friends of the Classic Malts, before being rolled out to a wider audience.  Moch translates from Gaelic to English as Dawn.  

CVNE \"Cune\" Rioja Tinto 1983 6x75cl

CVNE, Compañía Vinícola del Norte del España (the Northern Spanish Wine Company), was founded in 1879 in the town of Haro, the capital of La Rioja Alta. CVNE was founded by two brothers and today is still controlled by the direct descendants of the founding family.  \"Cune\" is the company's flagship brand.

This is a 1983 red wine - made from a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo, likely matured in oak barrels for about 6 months.

A Solid Speysider that is part of the Classsic Malts Collection.

Please note there is no box and condition of the labels. 

Carlos Serres 1962 Rioja

The history of the Carlos Serres winery in La Rioja Alta mirrors that of many other century-old Haro wineries.  Founded by a visionary who understood the area's wine-making potential in terms of both quality and international trade.

The front label implies - through it's ageing guide - that this wine \"Rioja Fino Clarete\" or \"Fine Red Rioja\" has been aged in oak for either 2 or 3 years.  As a younger oak-aged red wine, this is likely to be a blend of Tempranillo (85-90%) and Garnacha.

Cinzano Gran Liquore di Santa Vittoria - 1949-59 

The silver medalion on the seal dates this to the era between 1949 and 1959, this has become disconected from the bottled but has been taped to the back. 

The liqueuer was produced in Turin by Cinzano.
