Château Du Tertre 1970 Grand-Cru-Classé Margaux

Château du Tertre is located in the Margaux Appellation on the Medoc peninsula, Bordeaux.  While the estate is claimed to be over a thousand years old, it was during the 19th Century that it started to gain its reputation for fine wines.  In the 1855 Classification, Ch. du Tertre (then named Château Le Tertre) was awarded Fifth-Growth Grand Cru status.

The wines of this estate are typically formed of roughly equal quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with approximately 10% Cabernet Franc.

Château Duhart-Milon 1993 Paulliac

Château Duhart-Milon's existance as a major wine estate heralds back to the early 18th Century when - due to geographical and stylistic proximity - it became regarded as Château Lafite's second wine.  In the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, Ch. Duhart-Milon was granted status of 4th-Growth Grand-Cru.  Both Ch. Lafite and Ch. Duhart-Milon, among others, are owned by the Rothschild family, being acquired in 1868 and 1962 respectively.

The wine of Château Duhart-Milon is broadly similar to Ch. Lafite in style and varietal blending - Cabernet Sauvignon (65-80%) and Merlot (20-35%), aged for 14 months in oak barrels, of which 50% are new oak.

Château La Louvière 1995 Pessac-Léognan

The first vineyard of what became Château La Louvière was planted in the appellation of Pessac-Léognan, just southwest of Bordeaux city, in 1476.  Changing ownership many times, the property eventually came to rest, in 1965, in the hands of notable winemaker and multiple winery-owner,  André Lurton.  The appellation of Pessac-Léognan is a rarity in Bordeaux in that the appellation permits the production of both red and white wines.

This red wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with tiny quantities of Petit Verdot, matured for 12 months in oak barrels, of which 40% were new.

Bidding advice

You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.

Placing a Maximum Bid
