North British 1962 Berry Brothers and Rudd  50 Year Old Exceptional Casks

A stunning release of 50 year old grain whisky produced at North British Distillery in Edinburgh. 

Berry Brothers & Rudd married together their two remaining sister casks and bottled them as part of their Exceptional Casks series on the anniversary of their date of distillation: 50 years to the day. 

This is bottle number 323 of 472. 

Berry Brothers and Rudd is a firm steeped in history. They were established in the 17th century, and received a Royal Warrant from King Edward VII in 1903. The company has been bottling single malt whisky from almost as early as that, and produced their first ever blend, Cutty Sark, in 1923.

Distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2002 by Scotland's oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead's. This was matured in a bourbon hogshead.

North Port 1981 Duncan Taylor 23 Year Old

A bottling of North Port from Duncan Taylor's rarest of the Rare series, which showcases Scotland's lost distilleries.

Duncan Taylor was founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask broker and trading company. Its modern history began in 2001 when a former Glendronach employee, Euan Shand, purchased the firm and moved it to Huntly in Aberdeenshire, using the impressive cask portfolio it has amassed over the 20th century to become one of the premier independent bottlers in Scotland.

Distilled in 1981 and bottled as a 23 year old in November 2004.

North British 1962 Whisky Agency 48 Year Old / Perfect Dram

This single grain release was bottled from a single bourbon hogshead for The Whisky Agency in conjunction with Komplex Whisky.

Distilled in 1962 in Edinburgh at the North British distillery, this was bottled at 48 years old in 2010.

One of 146 bottles filled.

The Whisky Agency was founded in Germany by Carsten Ehrlich, who is also the driving force behind The Whisky Fair in Limburg, one of the world's most renowned annual whisky gatherings. Their passion is unquestionable, and they have a regular release schedule of high quality single casks, often in collaboration with some of the most respected whisky bars and retailers. The Whisky Agency's labels include The Perfect Dram, Liquid Library, Private Stock, and Liquid Sun.

North of Scotland 1971 Pearls of Scotland

This is a single grain whisky from the now closed North of Scotland distillery, famous for experimenting with distilling malt spirit in a Coffey still. 

Distilled in December 1971 and bottled May 2014.

North Port-Brechin 1974 Gordon and MacPhail

Mothballed in 1983 and demolished in 1990, the site of North Port now houses a Supermarket. 

North Port is quickly becoming scarce, this 1974 vintage from Gordon and MacPhail was bottled as part of the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1996.

The Connoisseurs Choice label is one of the most recognisable independent bottlings on the market. It was initially created for renowned Italian importer, Edoardo Giaccone in the early 1970s, but became a mainstay of the core Gordon & MacPhail portfolio in 1979.

A very well aged single grain whisky from the only distillery in Edinburgh.

This 'Summer Fete and Flower Shows' delightly old North british was distilled on 31st August 1978 and bottled at 36 years of age.

Nikka Taketsuru Ceramic Decanter

Masataka Taketsuru is known as the grand father of the Japanese whisky industry. He travelled to Scotland to study Organic Chemistry at University of Glasgow during the summer of 1919. Later, he began working in Hazelburn before it was absorbed by Springbank. When he returned to Japan he helped to establish the first Japanese Whisky Distillery becoming the founder of Nikka.

This no-age statement blend is bottled in an elegant white ceramic decanter.

North British 1962 Thomas Fantasy 48 Year Old 50cl

This single grain release was bottled from a single bourbon barrel for Thomas Fantasy.

Distilled in 1962 in Edinburgh at the North British distillery, this was bottled at 48 years old in 2010.

Not to be confused the \"Taketsuru\" - a blended malt named for the founder of the company Masataka Taketsuru - this non age statement blend is named Tsuru, the Japanese word for crane,  the graceful bird whose likeness adorns the exterior of this attractive ceramic decanter.
