Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #6 75cl / US Import

Aberlour A'Bunadh is bottled at cask strength in the tradition of 19th century single malts when villagers would come to the distillery to collect their dram straight from the cask, often in apothecary bottles obtained from the village chemist. These were the inspiration for the A'Bunadh bottle shape today.

A'Bunadh is bottled using only Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #6, this first to have been numbered and was released in 1999.

Arran Smugglers' Series Volume 1 / The Illicit Stills

A very cool nod to the shady history of Arran's distilling. Back during the 18th and 19th century the island was a producer of illicit whisky. Presented in a book style package to hide the goods.

The whisky itself represents the type of dram the illict producers would create. It is a mixture of Port Pipes and Sherry Hogsheads containing unpeated spirit and oak barrells containing peated spirit. An all-together heavier style dram than what is produced today.

This is the first edition of the trilogy, released in 2015.

One of only 8,700 bottles.

Ardbeg Supernova SN2015

The fourth and final release of Supernova... SN2015.

With Ardbeg having blasted whisky into space and it having returned successfully, we are being treated to a new Supernova. We'll need to wait and see as to what Dr Lumsden has to say about zero gravity maturation... probably that it isn't cost efficient. Peated to over 100 PPM, this is a big bang of a whisky. Truly out of this world. A star of a dram. Is that enough space puns yet?

Anderson Club 15 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon 1990s

An old bottle of Anderson Club bourbon from the 1990s, distilled and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky.

This bottle was produced at the old Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown, just a few years before it was tragically burned down in a fire in 1996, and production moved to their new site at Bernheim in 1999.

Anderson Club is a charcoal filtered whiskey, a practice known as the Lincoln County Process and often better associated with Tennessee Whiskies such as Jack Daniel's. This often leads to a common misconception, likely deliberately promoted by some distillers, that whiskey produced in this fashion cannot be called bourbon.
