Glenfarclas 1953 Single Cask 58 Year Old / Wealth Solutions

So few whiskies of this age are available these days, even Glenfarclas has no whisky remaining older than 1953. The whisky was distilled on 20th November 1953 and bottled on 13th February 2012, matured exclusively in a first fill sherry butt #1674.

A panel comprising of whisky connoisseur and a key member of the internationally renowned Malt Maniacs, Serge Valentin, Ben Ellefsen, Sales Director for Master of Malt, Michał Kowalski of Wealth Solutions and George Grant himself, unanimously made the selection from the remaining 4 casks distilled in 1953 and cask #1674 was selected to be bottled.

This single cask bottling was released at 58 years old and sold exclusively through the Wealth Solutions, Poland.

5* rated by Whiskyfun.com (no numerical score as Serge Valentin assisted with selection).

Glenrothes first started producing whisky in 1879 and from 1963 to 1989 it more than doubled its number of stills from four to 10.

These single cask bottlings were released in April 2018 to celebrate the careers of brothers Gordon and Alexander Tweedy. The bottles come from a pair of near identical hogsheads laid down in 1976, and spent 39 years sitting side by side in the Glenrothes warehouse.

Only 227 and 217 bottles of each were released, 10 lucky customers were given the opportunity to buy a number matched set, which also includes two VIP 'Behind the Scenes' tours passes valued at £600. Each pass is valid for two visitors (£150 value per person)

Presented in attractive oak presentation cases and each including a leather bound guide to the whisky and the year 1976.
