Flora and Fauna Complete Collection 26 x 70cl

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

Most of the bottles that were available with wooden boxes are presented so here; Strathmill, Auchriosk, Glen Spey and Glen Elgin were never available with these boxes.

Glenrothes first started producing whisky in 1879 and from 1963 to 1989 it more than doubled its number of stills from four to 10.

These single cask bottlings were released in April 2018 to celebrate the careers of brothers Gordon and Alexander Tweedy. The bottles come from a pair of near identical hogsheads laid down in 1976, and spent 39 years sitting side by side in the Glenrothes warehouse.

Only 227 and 217 bottles of each were released, 10 lucky customers were given the opportunity to buy a number matched set, which also includes two VIP 'Behind the Scenes' tours passes valued at £600. Each pass is valid for two visitors (£150 value per person)

Presented in attractive oak presentation cases and each including a leather bound guide to the whisky and the year 1976.
