Yamazaki Puncheon 2010 / First Release

Yamazaki was thrust into the spotlight after their Sherry Cask release of 2013 received the title of Best Whisky in the World title from Jim Murray.  

The distillery also releases several other annual limited editions, including the Puncheon bottling. This is a 2010 bottling from Yamazaki and was matured in large 480 litre oak Puncheons.

The first in Highland Park's Valhalla series released in 2012. 

This 16 year old Highland Park is a limited edition of 23,000 bottles.

Hillside 1971 Signatory Vintage 28 Year Old with Miniature 5cl / Silent Stills

Hillside distillery went through a high number of names before its closure in 1985, known also as Glenesk, Glen Esk, North Esk and Highland Esk. 

This was distilled in February 1971 and bottled in February 2000 by Signatory Vintage as part of the Silent Stills series.

Presentation number 83 of 242, each of which includes a miniature and a replica cask bung.

Yamazaki Suntory Very Rare Old 4 Litre 1970s / with Pouring Cradle

A fantastic bottle of Suntory Very Rare Old distilled in pot stills, and aged at Yamazaki.

This bottle dates from the 1970s.

Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel 2013

Yamazaki has been thrust into the spotlight after their Sherry Cask release of 2013 received the title of Best Whisky in the World title from Jim Murray.  

They release several other limited annual releases including the Bourbon Barrel. This is also a 2013 bottling from Yamazaki and offers an excellent contrast to the now highly sought after Sherry Cask.

Highland Park Ragnvald

The premium offering from Highland Park within their legendary Warrior series displayed in a lovely wooden case.

Matured in a combination of European oak and American oak.

Hampden 1992 Silver Seal 23 Year Old Rum

This rum is is distilled in Jamaica at Hampden Distillery, one of their oldest distilleries, and bottled by the esteemed Silver Seal company. Jamaican rum are known for producing the heaviest, strongest and most ester-containing rums on the market.

Silver Seal was founded by Ernesto Mainardi in 2000. This was Mainardi's second bottling company after the esteemed Sestane in 1979. Both companies were sold to Massimo Righi, proprietor of Whisky Antique, in 2010.

Bottled in support of the Rock No War charity who work in Africa.

Heaven Hill 13 Year Old Cadenhead's

This is a Cadenhead's bottling of Heaven Hill bourbon, bottled as part of their World Whiskies series.

This was bottled at 13 years old in May 2005. Tragically Heaven Hill's Bardstown distillery were this was distilled, was destroyed in 1996 by fire. They have since moved to a new home at Bernheim, which they purchased from United Distillers in 1999.

Interestingly, the bottle is labelled as having been matured in a \"bourbon barrel.\" The correct description however, should be \"charred new American oak,\" as refill barrel matured whiskey cannot legally be termed as bourbon.

A Suntory blend that is an early version of Hibiki, presented in a precursor to what would become the signature style.

The Hibiki 17 year old was eventually discontinued in 2018 due to stock shortages at Suntory.

Part of the 2019 additions to the series, The Essence of Suntory Whisky, this is a refill sherry cask matured single malt, produced at their flagship Yamazaki distillery.

Distilled in 2008 and bottled at a higher strength of 53%.

Yamazaki Suntory Finest Old Liqueur Whisky 3 x 72cl 1950s / Daimaru Wooden Case

A fantastic bottle of Finest Old Liqueur distilled in pot stills, and aged at Yamazaki.

This was bottled in the 1950's when the Suntory company was still known as Kotobukiya. It adopted the Suntory name for the parent company in 1963.

This lot comprises 3 bottles, presented in a wooden gift set from Daimaru, a department store chain in Japan.

Suntory's other excellent malt distillery, which was established in 1973. All distilling now takes place however at Hakushu East, which was built in 1981 with the original building (Hakushu West) now being used for other purposes. Interestingly, the 24 stills at Hakushu West remain, poised perhaps for an even greater surge in demand for Japanese whisky. 

With Hakushu 12 Year Old being discontinued in 2018, this 18 year old expression is becoming more and more sought after at auction. 

Yamazaki 12 Year Old Miniature 5cl / Illustration Label

A very popular expression from Japan, now getting harder and harder to find.

This is a native market exclusive with a special illustration of Yamazaki distillery label.

Yamazaki Limited Edition 2014

A limited edition Yamazaki; bottled in 2014 without an age statement.  

The limited edition has been put together using:

• 20 year old European oak sherry cask
• 20 year old European oak port casks
• Young (un-aged) American white oak bourbon casks

This is the Japanese release.
