Ardbeg Provenance 1974 23 Year Old

The first release of  the legendary  Ardbeg Provenance bottlings, distilled in 1974 and matured for 23 years until being released in late 1997.

Matured in bourbon casks roughly 4,000 of this were released to the EU and Asia.

These whiskies are highly acclaimed and desirable, the bottle and box is in perfect condition, including certificate and tartan insert.

Bowmore 1991 President's Selection Keizo Seji's Cask

At the time the president of Suntory, Mr Keizo Seji visited Bowmore distillery in 1991 and oversaw the filling of a single sherry cask.  After the death of Mr Seji his son visited Bowmore distillery and donated his fathers cask to the employees of Morrison Bowmore.  

The single sherry cask was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012, this 21 year old Bowmore was only given to employees of Morrison Bowmore .

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401 these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Seven traditional whisky casks and three sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

This expression was chosen to be the first Balvenie Tun 1401 available in the US market and consists of the casks shown below.

Ardbeg 21 Year Old (Committee Bottling)

12 casks were hand chosen to be released exclusively for the Ardbeg committee in 2001.

Matured in bourbon casks, only 2,500 bottles were produced and hand signed by Stuart Thomson.

Brora 1977 24 Year Old Rare Malt

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Brora closed in 1983 and over the years has contributed to 13 different Rare Malt Selection releases.  This bottle was distilled in 1977 and bottled in October 2001 as a 24 year old. Bottle number 5334.

TThe very desirable Ardbeg Oogling, only available to the Ardbeg Committee, with a very limited 1,392 bottles being released in 2006.

Three ex-bourbon hosghead of Very Young Ardbeg were married with one sherry butt distilled in 2002.

The original Icon of Arran whisky, released in 2009 this quickly became a popular collectors/investors item.

Distilled in 1996, matured in sherry casks and bottled in 2009, only 6,000 were released.

Bruichladdich Octomore Orpheus 2.2 

Similiarly to the Comus, the Orpheus release was equally peated to the same degree as its counter-part Octomore 2.1, at 140ppm.  The Orpheus was finished using Château Pétrus Bordeaux casks, recognised as one of the world’s top vineyards.  Matured for only 5 years this alongside the Comus have proven to be quite desirable bottlings.

Port Ellen 1983 Douglas Laing  26 Year Old

A sherry cask matured Port Ellen as part of Douglas Laing's Provenance range.

Bottled in the winter of 2010 and matured for 26 years since the Spring of 1983, independant bottlings are quickly becoming the only affordable way to reach Port Ellen's.

Distilled on 9th November 2004 and bottled in April 2011 the futures releases were only ever available at Bruichladdich distillery.

Peated to a massive 167 ppm, malted using Optic barley and matured in a bourbon cask.  

No wonder it's named 'The Beast'

Arran 1995 Open Day 2011

Only available at Arran distillery at their Open Day on 29th May 2011.

The cask was selected by a number of attendees to the 2010 Open Day  This was a single bourbon cask #104 distilled on 4th October 1995 and bottled on 18th April 2011, aged 15 years old.

Arran Devil's Punch Bowl Chapter I

The first edition of Arran's Devil Punch Bowl which consists of 27 casks distilled between 1997 and 2004; 17 of which are sherry casks, 6 ‘unpeated’ bourbon casks and 4 peated bourbon casks.

Known as the Angels and Devils edition, only 6,600 bottles have been released.

Ardbeg Rollercoaster – Committee Reserve

Released June 2010, Ardbeg Rollercoaster was strictly only available at the distillery or via Ardbeg.com.  However Ardbeg did not expect such demand, the website quickly broke and it did not take long for all 15,000 bottles to sell out.

Released to mark the 10th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee the Rollercoaster consists of ten vintages from 1997 to 2006

A fierce charring to the cask, an 'alligator char' provides the name for this whisky, aggressive heat when applied to the inside of the casks causes the cracking of the wood which re-sembles that of an Alligators skin. 

Following the acclaimed committee release, the un-tamed edition was released in 2011 and quickly sold out.

Bruichladdich Octomore 4.2 or Comus

Peated equally to the Octomore 4.1 release at a massive 167ppm, this was finished in Sauternes casks.  As with the Octomore Orpheus, the Comus has received quite a cult following providing a powerful peaty dram with an elegrant sweet character provided by what is recognised as perhaps the world’s greatest desert wine.   

Only 18,000 bottles released this is bottle number 7164.

After the auction closing date, the highest bidder will be notified by email. Payment is required within 72hrs. The buyer can then choose to ship, store, or collect the bottle(s). Buyer fees are applied during the online checkout process.  

The seller will receive payment within 21 working days of the end of the auction, directly to their chosen bank account. Seller fees will be applied to the seller’s invoice after the auction.
