Flora and Fauna Collection 23 of 26 Bottles

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

This is close to a complete set of Flora and Fauna bottlings many of which are presented in the original wooden boxes! The three missing to complete the set are are Speyburn, Aberfeldy and Royal Brackla.

Old Elgin 50 Year Old

Distilled in the Winter of 1940 and matured for 50 years prior to being bottled in \"The Whisky Capital of Scotland\" Elgin. 

This is a 50 year old Speyside single malt, Gordon and MacPhail have bottled Macallan, Glenlivet and Mortlach from this era. This may be one of them but it may not be.

Rosebank 1981 20 Year Old Rare Malt

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Rosebank was distilled in 1981 and bottled in the May 2002 release, at another impressive abv of 62.3%.

This was aged in refill American oak and refill European oak casks, a must have official bottle from this lost classic.

Bottled by Signatory Vintage this 14 year old Rosebank was distilled on the 22nd June 1990 and bottled on the 4th April 2005.

Matured in a single hogshead #1508 this is bottle number 25 of 247.

Rosebank 1990 SMWS 23 Year Old 25.66

Distilled on the 14th of November 1990 then aged for 23 years in Refill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead.

While crazy names are common for SMWS, \"Betty Davis doing DIY\" has to be an award winner!

Redbreast Mano a Lámh All Sherry Limited Edition

A limited release from Midleton of 2000 bottles for Stillhouse members. 

Mano a Lámh, means ‘hand in hand’, represents the joining of two languages, Gaelic and Galician, in celebration of the relationship between the Masters of Midleton and the collective of artisans in Spain, who have crafted the distillery’s sherry butts over 20 years.

Oban 21 Year Old / US Import 75cl

A 21 Year Old limited edition Oban, bottled as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Releases. Matured using rejuvenated American oak and second-fill Bodega casks, only 2,860 bottles were released.

Rosebank 1980 Douglas Laing 22 Year Old / US Import 75cl 

Rosebank is a sorely missed lowland malt.

This Douglas Laing bottling was distilled in September 1980 and bottled October 2002. 

One of 330 bottles.

Please note there is no box.  

Rosebank 1989 Cadenhead's 16 Year Old

Distilled 1989 and bottled September 2005, 

One of 294 bottles.

This version of the Royal Lochnagar Selected Reserve was replaced by the purple box release around 2007/2008.

Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage

A small batch Old Pulteney, distilled in 1990 and matured in American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish ex-sherry casks which previously held heavily peated whisky.

Rebel Yell

Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey. The brand owned by Luxco but the bourbon itself is distilled by Heaven Hill at its Bernheim distillery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Distilled in 1990 and bottled in October 2011 from a single bourbon barrel.

Royal Lochnagar 10 Year Old Manager's Dram 2006

The Manager’s Dram series of whiskies were bottled exclusively for employees of what is now known as Diageo.  These whiskies were selected by the respective distillery managers within Diageo malt distilling and bottled at natural cask strength.

A 10 year old Royal Lochnagar, matured in European oak casks and chosen by distillery manager David Hardy, bottled in January 2006

A hand filled Old Pulteney distilled in Jaunary 1991 and bottled June 2008 from cask 149.

Distilled in September 1997 and hand bottled in April 2013 after being matured in a single bourbon cask. 

Old Pulteney Pentland Skerries 1 Litre

Part of Old Pulteney's Lighthouse collection, released in the autumn of 2013.

Pentland Skerries is named two lighthouses, which are located on the archipelago between the mainland and Orkney. 

Matured exclusively in sherry casks.

Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel

Named after a stretch of farmland in Kentucky, this is a single barrel bourbon that shares a mash bill with Blanton's, Elmer T Lee, Ancient Age and Hancock's reserve.

Four Roses Single Barrel  / Bayway World of Liquor Exclusive

The limited edition from Four Roses, matured in Warehouse HW and selected from Barrel #78-4H at 59.8%. 

Aged in warehouse H for 10 Years and 5 months prior to being selected by and bottled for Bayway World of Liquor in Octoer 2014. 

The Four Rose's Recipe selected was 60% corn, 35% Rye and 5% Malted barley. 

Oban Little Bay 1 Litre

Oban means Little bay in gaelic. This whisky has been matured in three types of casks , European oak ex-sherry casks, re-fill casks with new oak cask ends and re-fill American oak hogsheads.
