Old Elgin 50 Year Old

Distilled in the Winter of 1940 and matured for 50 years prior to being bottled in \"The Whisky Capital of Scotland\" Elgin. 

This is a 50 year old Speyside single malt, Gordon and MacPhail have bottled Macallan, Glenlivet and Mortlach from this era. This may be one of them but it may not be. 

Bottle number 062. 

Please note the low fill level and that this bottle has a fragile wax seal. 

Chichibu 2009 SMWS 4 Year Old 130.1

A Chichibu distilled in June 2009 and matured in a first fill ex-bourbon barrel.

This Coleburn was distilled in March 1978 and bottled in February 1998. 

Caol Ila 1975 Rare Malt 20 year old 75cl

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1975 and bottled in 1995 as a 20 year old, there were eight releases of Caol Ila under the Rare Malt Selection.

This what happens when you let a talented fashion designer at an icon of whisky... Christian Lacroix has designed this limited edition Chivas Regal 18 year old in an embroidery fabric and silver bottle, designed to emphasise 'Chivalry'.

Only 3,000 of this limited edition Chivas were produced.

Campbell's Blended Scotch Whisky 1940 

A very rare blended whisky produced by John Campbell's we believe from around the 1940s

This particular bottle has been difficult to find information on and we believe this rare John Campbell's blended whisky is affiliated to Campbell, Hope and King the legendary bottlers from Elgin.  The bottle certainly dates from an earlier period than that to which Campbell, Hope and King are better known.  The italic name 'Campbell's' certainly matches those used for Campbell's of Elgin a blend that was produced from the 1960s.

Clynelish 17 Year Old Manager's Dram 1998

The Manager’s Dram series of whiskies were bottled exclusively for employees of what is now known as Diageo.  These whiskies were selected by the respective distillery managers within Diageo malt distilling and bottled at natural cask strength.

This 17 year old Clynelish was matured in sherry casks and selected by the distillery manager.

Bottled 23rd November 1998.

Oban 21 Year Old / US Import 75cl

A 21 Year Old limited edition Oban, bottled as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Releases. Matured using rejuvenated American oak and second-fill Bodega casks, only 2,860 bottles were released.

Caperdonich Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #1

Caperdonich is a Speyside distillery that closed in 2002. 

The image depicts a \"donich Caper\", with guys trying to drill the legendary pipeline that runs between Glen Grant and Caperdonich.

A Cadenhead bottling of a 1975 vintage Demerrara rum from Guyana.

Coleburn 1972 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in 1972 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail in 2000.

Coleburn is yet another of the many distilleries that didn’t make it through the 1980s, the production equipment is now gone so this will never produce again. 

Chichibu 2008 Ichiro's Malt The First

The first whisky (aged three year old) released from Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery. Showcased at the 2011 Whisky Show then released in UK in early 2012.

Caol Ila 1978 Rare Malt 23 Year Old 

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Caol Ila was distilled in 1978 and bottled in the May 2002 release, again at a high abv of 61.7%.

Compass Box Last Vatted Malt

In the final day before the 2009 Scotch Whisky regulations were enacted (22/11/2009) CompassBox released both this and the \"Last Vatted Malt\". From that day forward the word \"Vatted\" was no longer legitimate and has been replaced with \"Blended\". So now Blended Malts and Blended Grains are the acceptable nomenclature.

This is a combination of old Speyside and Islay single malts.

Old Pulteney Millennium Single Cask 15 Year Old

Old Pulteney released a number of Millennium single casks. 

This is cask number 1305, whisky distilled in 1982 and bottled at 15 years old.

Cardhu 1984 SMWS 27 Year Old 106.18

Distilled in Novmeber 1984, matured in a refill ex-bourbon hogshead and bottled 27 years later by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Colonel E.H Taylor Barrel Proof

Hailing from Buffalo Trace, this brand applies methods and mashbills comperable to those intorduced by Colonel E. H. Taylor. He was a bourbon distiller in the late 1800s. 

The Barrel proof is bottled at a hefty 64.5%

Distilled in January 1992 and bottled in 2015, this Caol Ila was matured in Refill Ex-bourbon hogshead.

Caperdonich 1992 Douglas Laing 20 Year Old

A Douglas Laing bottling of Caperdonich, distilled in October 1992 and bottled in January 2013 from a refill hogshead.

One of 322 bottles. 

Caperdonich 1992 Berry Brothers and Rudd 20 Year Old

Distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2012 after being matured in a single cask. 

Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage

A small batch Old Pulteney, distilled in 1990 and matured in American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish ex-sherry casks which previously held heavily peated whisky.

Chichibu Chibidaru 2010

This is from the new Japanese distillery Chichibu. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2014, this has been matured in Chibidaru casks. 
Chibidaru are similar to quarter casks, the difference being that while Scottish quarter casks just have staves removed, Chibidaru have shortened staves and are repurposed.

Caol Ila 1998 Feis Ile 2013

Release in June 2013 for the annual Feis Ile, this Caol Ila was specially selected by Billy Stitchell.

Bottle number 2,317 of 3,000

Billy said this about how the whisky matured:

“Spirit distilled in 1998 has been triple-cask matured. For 12 years it rested in a combination of Refill Butts, Hogsheads and Barrels. The vatted whisky was then allowed to mature for several months in active hogshead casks to impart a spicy/oaky note to the existing delicate Caol Ila smoke. Finally it was treated to a final gentle maturation in European oak.”

Caol Ila 2000 Feis Ile 2011

Released for the annual Feis Ile, in 2011 this Caol Ila was hand selected by Billy Mitchell and was matured in sherry cask 301696.
