Ardbeg Perpetuum Distillery Release

As Ardbeg distillery turns 200 years old there will no doubt be a few new limited releases, starting with the Perpetuum.  

This is the distillery only release, it was available from the distillery shop and briefly online. 

The Distillery Release is restricted to around 12,000 bottles and has a higher ABV than the Bicentenary Release.

Ardbeg Dark Cove Committee Release

The new committee release for 2016, this has been matured in ex-bourbon casks with a heart matured in dark sherry casks. The style has been inspired by the history of illicit distilling on the Island of Islay, many people were involved including Allan and Alexander the uncles of John McDougall founder of Ardbeg distillery. This is the limited committee release, a more available lower ABV edition will be launched for Ardbeg Day/Night. 

The Ardbeg Distillery lies on the most Southernly part of Islay and on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Ardbeg is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex whisky of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat: rather the peat gives way to the malt, the natural sweetness of which subtly intrudes, producing perfect balance.

Ardbeg Serendipity 12 year old

The result of an accident when very year old Ardbeg gets mixed with 12 year old Glen Moray.

This blended malt was simply 20% Glen moray and 80% Ardbeg.

Released in 2005, there were 16,000 bottles made available.

Ardbeg Dark Cove Committee Release 75cl / US Import

Arran Devil’s Punch Bowl Chapter III           

Released in 2014, Arran’s third and final edition of the Devil's Punch Bowl

A vatting of consisting of  21 casks; 8 of which are Oloroso Sherry casks, 8 French Oak barriques and 5 Bourbon casks. Following Chapter I and II, only 6,660 bottles were released.

Allt-a'-Bhainne 1979 SMWS 14 Year Old 108.2

Bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Distilled in November 1979 and bottled 14 years later in May 1994.

Aberlour 1989 Reserve Collection 25 Year Old / Single Cask Edition 

The Reserve Collection has been created to replace the Cask Strength series of bottlings from Chivas Brothers.  This Cask Strength edition, alongside their Single Cask editions are only available at Chivas Brother's distilleries.

The first bottling from Chivas of Aberlour as a distillery exclusive single cask. Distilled on 13th December 1989 and bottled on 8th July 2015.

Arran Devil’s Punch Bowl Chapter II           

Released in mid 2013, Arran’s second edition, release in the very popular punch bowl series consists of 27 casks distilled between 1997 and 2004; 17 of which are sherry casks, 6 ‘unpeated’ bourbon casks and 4 peated bourbon casks. Known as the Angels and Devils edition, only 6,600 bottles have been released.

This is a very early batch of Aberlour a'Bunadh, the first to carry a batch number and released during 1999.

The new and shiny Ardbeg Auriverdes, launched on 31st May 2014 on 'Ardbeg Day' which coincides with the 'Ardbeg Day' with the Islay Festival.  

The Auriverdes (Auri = Gold and Verdes = Green) is named after the Brazilian sports teams colours whilst also referring to Ardbeg's iconic green bottle and the 'golden' whisky inside.

Auchroisk 1979 First Cask 26 Year Old

Distilled on the 5th of September 1979 and matured for 26 years.

Arran 2002 SMWS 9 Year Old 121.50

A Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling of Arran, known as 'Xmas cake and Afghan coats'.

Distilled on 15th July 2002 and bottled 9 years later from a single Ex-Sherry Butt

This is the general release, a more widely available and lower ABV edition launched for Ardbeg Day/Night.
