Flora and Fauna Complete Collection - 26 Bottles

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

Salignac Trés Vieille Fine Cognac - Reserve De L'Aigion Circa 1950s

The house of Salignac Cognac has a history dating back to 1763, when it came into being thanks to a country gentleman, Antoine de Salignac. Because of this wonderfully long history, it’s possible to still find some very old, very rare cognacs from the house of Salignac Cognac. These, naturally, are high priced and highly desirable cognacs, easily reaching four figure sums.

Felipe II Brandy Sherry 1950s

Brandy de Jerez is brandy from the Jerez region of Spain - where sherry comes from.

It is aged by the solera method like sherry, that is new is mixed with old on a systematic basis, accelerating the maturation process. Theoretically, there is some portion of the first brandy ever aged by the distiller in there! Brandy de Jerez is generally sweeter than cognac and has a nice complexity. Felipe II is sweetish, with a nice roundness to the flavor. It is also interesting to note that since alembic distilling was begun by Muslims and the Jerez region was under their rule from many years, brandy de Jerez has quite a pedigree

Bidding advice

You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.

Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. Placing a Single Bid
