Kawasaki 1980 33 Year Old Single Cask #6165 (1 of 60 bottles)

We all know how popular closed Japanese distilleries are at the moment, this is very rare bottling comes from the lost grain distillery, Kawasaki.  Kawasaki only produced whisky for approximately 20-25 years and was closed in the early 1980s, there have been very very few single cask bottlings from this distillery which makes this even special.  

Distilled in 1980 and bottled as part of Nonjatta's (http://www.nonjatta.com/) Ghost Series bottlings with each label in the series depicting art work created by Tasio Yoshitoshi's 'New Forms of 36 Ghosts'.  

Bottled from a single sherry cask number #6165, which is cause for attention as only 60 bottles were drawn from the cask - this is bottle number 22. 

Karuizawa 1969 42 Year Od Single Cask #8183

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim, this one perhaps more than most!

It is amazing that whiskies such as this have been bottled in recent years given how few casks of Karuizawa are remaining. There are now not many as old as this and we doubt there will be many (if any at all) that will match this age in the future.

Distilled in December 1969 and bottled 42 years later in August 2012, this is legendary cask #8183  which oddly is a 400 litre ex-bourbon cask.

Karuizawa 1980 33 Year Old J'avance Vers Le Futur Single Cask #6431

As with many of the Karuizawa bottlings that we list in our auctions, the labels are fantastic! 

J'avance Vers Le Futur was a single cask bottled exclusively for La Maison Du Whisky (www.whisky.fr) and was distilled in January 1980 and bottled in July 2013 aged 33 years.

Single cask #6431 is an ex-bourbon cask.

Another new single cask Karuizawa for us, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2012 with a fantastic label - shame we missed Halloween with this one!

Single bourbon cask #8529 yielded only 411 bottles.

Karuizawa Noh 27 Year Old Multi Vintages Batch #1

La Maison Du Whisky released a number of multi-vintage Karuizawa's, bottled under the Noh release brand.

This is the original multi-vintage Karuizawa from 1981, 1983 and 1984 bottled October 2011.

The whisky used was from Sherry Butts and Bourbon casks from 1981, 1981, 1983 and 1984; cask numbers #6405, #4973, #8184 and #6437.

Karuizawa 1981 34 Year Old Single Cask #152

It is amazing that we still see single casks of Karuizawa being released, this 1981 vintage was bottled earlier this year as a 34 year from an ex-sherrycask.

Only 566 bottles were produced and sold exclusively by La Maison Du Whisky, Paris.

Matured in an ex-bourbon cask for 35 years this single cask #8187 Karuizawa was bottled in July 2014 for La Maison Du Whisky.

Only 350 were released.

Glenfiddich 1975 Rare Collection 34 Year Old

A single cask Glenfiddich distilled in 1975 was matured for 34 years. 

This single cask was number #22000.

Bottle number 301 of 520.

Glenfiddich Spirit of a Nation 29 Year Old

A limited edition Glenfiddich produced to commemorate the four brave servicemen and women who were wounded while serving in the armed forces and who set out on an epic 335km race to the South Pole. Glenfiddich are sponsoring the expedition and this bottle was released to commemorate the event.  

Released exclusively in the UK this refill sherry cask was filled in 1984 and select by Glenfiddich's Malt Master.  The whisky spent a brief finishing period in a cask which toured events in support of the 'Walking With the Wounded UK South Pole Challenge Team'.  

Only 200 bottles were released.

A single cask Karuizawa bottled exclusively for La Maison Du Whisky, in Paris.

Distilled in 2000 and released in 2013 as a 12 year old at cask strength.  Matured in a single sherry butt #166 and presented in a unique bottle depicting a Sea Dragon.

Glendronach 1971 Single Cask 40 Year Old

Distilled on 25th of Febuary 1971 and bottled in July 2011, this was fully matured in cask number 1436 which was a Pedro Ximinez Sherry Pucheon.

Bottle number 583 of 583 bottles.

Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix Case (3 x 70cl)

A limited edition release selected from three warehouses which collapsed on the 7th January 2010, due to adverse weather conditions (a rather heavy snow storm).

Bottled without an age statement, Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix has been highly acclaimed and includes Oloroso and American oak casks from warehouses ranging from 13 to 30 years old.

This lot comprises a full opened case of three Snow Phoenix.

Glenfarclas 1966 46 Year Old

Distilled in 1966 on either 22nd April or 3rd June this vintage release from Glenfarclas comes from sherry hogsheads #2603, 2604, 3551 and 3552.

Bottled on 28th Spetember 2012.

Bottle number 455 of 656.

Glenlivet 1950 Gordon and Macphail

Glenlivet distilled over half a century ago in 1950.  Bottled by Gordon and Macphail under the George & J.G Smith's branding - bottled at some point in the 1990s.

Condition of bottle and box are excellent, level is in mid-neck.

Karuizawa Cask Strength 1st Release

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market, this is the first bottling released in 2013 (along with the 2nd and 3rd releases which followed in the same year)

The cask strength series is a combination of sherry casks from 1999 and 2000 all bottled at 61.7%

Glenlivet 1969 Signatory Vintage Gift Pack

Distilled on the 19th of Febuary 1969 and then matured in a sherry butt prior to being bottled 27th of July 2000.

Comes with a branded glass and sample.

Glenury 1968 36 Year Old

There are very few official bottling of this rare highland malt, which closed its doors for the last time in 1985.

This 1968 vintage Glenury was bottled in 2005 within Diageo's annual super premium series.  

One of only 2,100 bottles, this is bottle number 1986.

Glenury 1970 36 Year Old

There are very few official bottling of this rare highland malt, which closed its doors for the last time in 1985.

This 1970 vintage Glenury was bottled in 2006 within Diageo's annual super premium series.  

One of only 1926 bottles, this is bottle number 1290.

Karuizawa 1996 SMWS 132.4 17 Year Old

Otherwise known as 'Stunning Panaorama of Exotic Fruits'.

This Karuizawa was distilled on 4th September 1999 and bottled as a 17 year old in 2013.  

A single refill ex-sherry butt yielded 346 bottles.

Karuizawa Cask Strength 3rd Release

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market.  

The 3rd release is a blend of vintages from 1999 and 2000, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2013.
