Flora and Fauna Complete Collection - 26 Bottles

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

Lagavulin 1976 37 Year Old

The oldest release of Lagavulin to date released late 2013 as part of Diageo's annual 'super premium' releases.

Distilled in 1976 and matured in refill American oak and European oak casks, yielding 1,868 bottles.

Laphroaig 30 Year Old

Presented in this wooden box, Laphroaig 30 year old was originally released in 2000.  

We rarely see well aged official bottlings from Islay, this well aged Laphroaig has only been out-matured by the 40 year old releases.

Ladyburn 1973 Blackadder 38 Year Old

A very rare single cask Ladyburn bottled by Blackadder.

Distilled on 13th July 1973 and matured in single cask #4490 before being bottled in February 2012.

Lagavulin 25 Year Old

Released as part of Diageo's Super Premium malts.

From 1977 this 25 year old Lagavulin was released in 2002 and limited to 9,000 bottles.  Perhaps unsuprisingly it is a stunning whisky and is very highly rated indeed.

Lagavulin 21 Year Old 1991

With only 2,772 bottles released world wide this latest edition of Lagavulin 21 year old was highly sought after at it's released in Novemeber 2012.

Wholly matured in first fill ex-sherry casks, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012.

Johnnie Walker Odyssey (Includes Two Glasses)

The very high end of Johnnie Walker created using the notes of Alexander Walker.

Composed of three carefully selected single malts that have been married in European oak casks. The clever design of the crystal decanter moves along with the motion of the ocean and its 'swing' style box will ensure it cannot fall over.

All Triple distilled pot still whiskey with no grain added, this was created as a special edition for the millennium.

Laphroaig 25 Year Old 2008 Release

Originally released in 2007, there have been numerous Laphroaig 25 year old's released annually. 

This 2008 release was fortunately bottled at a cask strength of 50.9%.

Laphroaig 1989 23 Year Old

A vintage Laphroaig released for the Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish markets.  

Distilled in 1989 and bottled 23 years later, only 1,800 bottles were released.

Diageo Thank You to Hill Street Decanter

A very limited bottling of Johnnie Walker Swing from Diageo, produced to thank all of the staff at the famous Hill Street Plant in Kilmarnock, when it finally closed in 2011.

Presented alongside a history of the Hill Street plant and a DVD.

Longmorn 1969 Duncan Taylor 33 Year Old

Distilled May 1969 then bottled in December 2002, Matured in cask number 2947.

Lagavulin 1980 Distillers Edition

The second release of this acclaimed expression of Lagavulin double matured. 

The 1979 first release has gained almost legendary status and the 1980 is close behind.

This very rare expression of Johnnie Walker was produced solely for the Japanese market, it has since been discontinued.

Released at natural cask strength of 59.3%.  Distilled 1972 bottled 1994 level is well in to neck, labels and bottle are pristine.

Johnnie Walker Green Label has been discontinued in most markets, this recent limited edition bottling is known as the Taiwan Wonders Collection.

The collection features etched images presented on the rear of each bottle, this is the 'Taroko Gorge Edition'.

Lagavulin Triple Matured (Friends Of The Classic Malts)

Originally only available to 'Friends of the Classic Malts' this limited Lagavulin has been triple matured using refill casks, American oak hogsheads and finally European Oak refill casks.

Limited to approximately 4,500 bottles.
