Saburomaru 1994 Heavily Peated 50cl

Wakatsuru Shozou own Saburomaru Distillery, which had been producing limited amounts of whisky since the 1950s but had long since fallen into disrepair when restoration work began in 2016.

As such, it is unclear where this 1994 vintage Japanese single malt was actually distilled, but it is heavily peated to 50ppm and bottled in 2016.

Shizoka 2019 Blackadder New Make 3 x 20cl

Foundered in 2016 by Giai Flow, the Shizoka distillery is located in the city that shares its name. A year before production began, Gaia bought the distilling equipment previously used by the legendary Karuizawa distillery, which was dismantled in 2011. The equipment was purchased as is, but only one of the four stills can be used. The other three were simply too old. However, they are displayed at the new site as a tribute to the legendary Karuizawa distillery. The grain mill and barrel hoop driving machine were also salvaged.

The distillery also has two new Forsyths stills which are currently the only stills in the world that are wood fired.

The following three 20cl bottles where produced by Blackadder and distributed at the Whisky Fair which took place in Limburg, Germany in 2019. The bottles included are...

  • Shizuoka New Make Wine Cask, 19 Months Matured 63.1%
  • Shizuoka New Make Karuizawa Still, Unpeated 64.1%
  • Shizuoka New Make Wood Fired Still, Unpeated 64.2%

Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. Placing a Single Bid
