Balvenie 12 Year Old Double Wood

The Double Wood is a malt which gains its distinctive character and name from being matured in two wood types.

During maturation it is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill European oak sherry cask. 

Auchroisk 10 Year Old 'The Singleton'

The Singleton is a popular range, The Auchriosk was it's earliest incarnation.

Smooth Ambler Contradiction

The Smooth Ambler is a craft distillery based in West Virginia, the 'Contradiction' is a blend of two whiskies, one rather young wheated bourbon distilled at Smooth Ambler's own distillery and an old 'rye-rich' bourbon sourced by themselves.

This is from batch number 15. 

Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old 50cl

A 50cl bottling of this Islay favourite, widely recognised as the ideal introduction to the island’s whiskies, as it has all the Islay flavours but at milder tones.

Southern Comfort is American liqueur made from neutral grain spirit. 

These days it's weaker and more geared towards cocktails.

Italian coffee/chocolate cream liqueuer. 

Due to the age we would only reccomend this product for collecting, we repeat this will not be suitable for drinking.

Sikes' Hydrometer

The set comprises of a mahogany box with red silk lining and fitted red velvet pad, which house the brass weights, hydrometer float and thermometer. The inset ivory cartouche on the lid of the case is blank so the maker of the set is not known.

These sets were produced in the mid to late 19th century for use by customs officials in the testing of alcoholic strength of distilled whisky/spirit once the cask had been removed from it's bonded warehouse and duty was required by law to be calculated and paid.

A fascinating piece of history surrounding the production process of Scotch Whisky.

The red silk lining has split along the length of the left and right sides but is still firmly in place. One of the brass pieces is missing and the '10' weight looks to have been replaced at somepoint, as indicated by a different reference number on the piece to the rest of the set. Otherwise condition is good. Please see images.

A specially commisoned 15 year old Single Malt for Burberry's of London, a clothing label that signifies the height of class in British culture.

Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old

One of the three Singleton whiskies produced by Diageo, the Dufftown is typically available in the UK and other European markets.  

Following the Dufftown, the other distilleries in this range are Glen Ord and Glendullan.

12 year old Singleton of Dufftown is a combination of American and European Oak casks.

An 8 year old blended malt produced by R Carmichael and Sons. 

White Satin Special Dry Gin 1980s

An old brand of gin produced by Seagram's.

Estiamted to have been produced in the 1980s.

Sandeman Fine Rich Madeira 

Sandeman Fine Rich Madeira is made in the traditional manner on the Atlantic island of Madeira.  Made exclusively from the popular Tinta Negra grape, the base wine is then fortified with grape spirit and left to mature in oak casks.  Unusually for ageing wines and spirits, Madeira casks are carefully positioned in warehouses to ensure sun exposure, for it is this warmth which caramelises the natural sugars in the wood which affords Madeira its unique flavour.
