Springbank 2006 Local Barley 11 Year Old

This is one of a select number of releases produced using malted barley harvested from neighbouring farms in the Campbeltown area. They were first introduced in the late 1990s, and were eventually re-named as the Local Barley series in the 2000s.

This is the 2017 release of the mid-2010s revival of the Local Barley range. Originally intended to be a five-part series, this is instead now being marketed as an annual release. Distilled from Bere barley harvested on the Aros Farm, this release was limited to only 9,000 bottles.

The Meadowside Blending Company was established in 2011 by Donald Hart and his son Andrew. The Maltman is their flagship brand, and has produced a number of renowned single cask release

Yamazaki Limited Edition 2022

Suntory’s flagship distillery, Yamazaki was founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1923. The town of Yamazaki was chosen to be the site of Japan’s first commercial distillery due to its very ‘Scottish’ climate, and with it being an area where three rivers converge. In its early days, Yamazaki produced both malt and grain for Suntory's blends, but the opening of the Chita distillery in 1972 allowed the company to focus on its single malt brand. It is now one of the world's most desirable. The first spirit ran from the stills in 1924, on 11th November at 11:11am.

This 2022 limited edition has been matured in fresh casks made from Mizunara oak trees. 

Sideburn 31 Year Old Decadent Drinks / Decadent Drams

Burnside is the name given to a certain blend of single malts distilled in Speyside by William Grant & Sons when sold in bulk, appearing occasionally on independent bottlings like this. The trademark for bottled whisky named Burnside is still owned by J&A Mitchell & Co, who’s Eaglesome subsidiary released several Springbank expressions labelled as such in the 1980s and early 1990s.

This 'Sideburn' blended malt is a combination of two refill barrels, one filled in 1992 and one in 1993. It was bottled by Decadent Drinks in 2025, under their Decadent Drams label.

Speyside Single Malt 1990 The Whisky Jury 31 Year Old

This single malt was distilled at an undisclosed Speyside distillery in October 1990 and matured in single refill hogshead #TWJ-GL-1990-3 for 31 years. It was bottled by The Whisky Jury in 2022.

Although the source of the whisky remains undisclosed, the familiar font on the label perhaps offers a clue to the distillery of origin.

Launched in 2012, That Boutique-y Whisky Company is an independent bottler and subsidiary of the Atom Group in Kent, England. Their releases are notable for their use of comic book style graphic labels, often with irreverent industry jokes concealed within them. Their catalogue is hugely expansive, covering whiskies from all over the world, and they are now joined by sister companies who bottle Gin and Rum.
