Palacio Gloriso 1978 Crianza Rioja

Founded in 1894, Bodegas Palacio is one of Rioja’s “historic bodegas” – their wine history reads much as the history of wines in the greater Rioja region, being on trend through much of their existence.  During the mid-1980s, the style of Rioja’s wines underwent a major transformation – out with the traditional earthiness in favour of a modern fruit-forward approach.

Ponche Ancora 1960s

Ponche is a rather unusual - and increasingly rare - alcoholic beverage.  Something similar to Eggnog, it is a sweet cream liqueur made with egg-yolks and generally fortified with either brandy or rum.  Also known as sabajón (in Colombia) or ponche zabaglione (in Mexico and Venezuala).

Porta Dos Cavaleiros Dão 1973

Founded in 1920, Caves São João are a family-owned winery based in the Portuguese village of Sangalos, north of Coimbra.  In the 1950's, with greater focus on regional wine identities, the family released their \"Porta Dos Cavaleiros\" range as their showcase wines from the Dão region.  As such, this wine is made exclusively of grapes native to the Dão - Tinta Roriz (aka Tempranillo), Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and possibly small quantities of Baga.  The wine was likely aged up to 2 years in cement tanks - as was traditional in the region - to allow the wine to mellow without picking up unwanted oak tannins.

Bidding advice

You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.

Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.

Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
