Laphroaig 1960 Vintage Reserve 40 Year Old

A vintage release of Laphroaig distilled in 1960 and bottled as a 40 year old. Laphroaig this age is incredibly rare!

Distilled in 1960 and presented with a certificate from distillery manager Iain Henderson, the casks were matured for 40 years in warehouse #1. This is the first release from Oddbins and the far more limited of the two. 

This is bottle 230 of 300.

Glenfarclas 1953 Single Cask 58 Year Old

So few whiskies of this age are available these days, even Glenfarclas has no whisky remaining older than 1953. The whisky was distilled on 20th November 1953 and bottled on 13th February 2012, matured exclusively in a first fill sherry butt #1674.

A panel comprising of Serge Valentin, a whisky connoisseur and a key member of the internationally renowned Malt Maniacs, Ben Ellefsen, Sales Director for Master of Malt, Michał Kowalski of Wealth Solutions and George Grant himself, unanimously made the selection from the remaining 4 casks distilled in 1953 and cask #1674 was selected to be bottled.

This single cask bottling was released at 58 years old and sold exclusively through the Wealth Solutions, Poland.

5* rated by Whiskyfun.com (no numerical score as Serge Valentin assisted with selection).

Glenury Royal 1953 50 Year Old

There are very few official bottling of this rare highland malt, which closed its doors for the last time in 1985.

This spectacular sherried 1953 vintage Glenury was bottled as a 50 Year old.  

Bottle number 59 of only 498.

A single cask Glenfiddich distilled in 1978 was matured for 34 years until bottling. 

This single cask American hoghsead number #11807 this is bottle number 13 of 180 

Lagavulin 1979 Murray McDavid 24 Year Old

A rare independent bottle of Lagavulin. Distilled in 1979 and then matured for 24 years prior to being bottled by Murray McDavid.

Glenfarclas 1960 Family Cask 2nd Release

Bottled as part of the second release of Glenfarclas Family Cask, perhaps the most extensive collection of vintage whiskies from a single distillery.

This 1960 vintage was bottled on the 10th October 2007 from a Sherry hogshead #1773 yielding 157 bottles.

Glenfarclas 1966 Douglas Laing Probably Speyside's Finest

\"Probably Speyside's Finest\" is \"probably\" code for Glenfarclas. 

This was distilled in November 1967 and bottled in 2013 after 46 years in a sherry butt. There is no \"probably\" about this being awesome. 

One of 302 bottles.

This latest release is one of the oldest ever from Laphroaig, matured for 32 years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks this has been incredibly popular at retail selling out almost immediately.

Only 5,880 bottles were produced.

Presented in this wooden box, Laphroaig 30 year old was originally released in 2000.  

We rarely see well aged official bottlings from Islay, this well aged Laphroaig has only been out-matured by the 40 year old releases.

Please note the condition of this lot, in particular the sticker damage to the rear label.

Laphroaig 1975 Jack Wieber 34 Year Old

Distilled in 1975 and bottled in 2010 after spending 34 years in a bourbon cask.

Only 120 bottles were produced from 1035.

Glenfarclas 1963 Family Cask #179

Bottled as part of the Glenfarclas Family Cask range of vintage whiskies.

This 1963 bottled was bottled on the 14th of October 2011 from sherry cask #179 yielding 194 bottles.

Linkwood 1939 Cask Strength / Bottled 1957

We rarely see items like this these days, this is a lovely example of  Linkwood from the late 1950s. Bottled by Elgin based bottlers Campbell, Hope and King.

The label reads:

Lagavulin 25 Year Old / 2002 Release

Released as part of Diageo's Super Premium malts.

From 1977 this 25 year old Lagavulin was released in 2002 and limited to 9,000 bottles.  Perhaps unsuprisingly it is a stunning whisky and is very highly rated indeed.

Glendronach 33 Year Old

Distilled in 1971, this was released in 2004 to great acclaim. Matured in a legendary batch of Oloroso sherry casks.

Jim Murray gave this 95 out of 100 in his Whisky Bible, then the blind and expert pannel of Judges at the San Francisco Spirits Competition gave it a Gold Medal.

An official bottling of long closed Glen Albyn. 

This bottle was originally exported to the Italian market.

With only 2,772 bottles released world wide this latest edition of Lagavulin 21 year old was highly sought after at it's released in Novemeber 2012.

Wholly matured in first fill ex-sherry casks, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012.

Glenury Royal 1970 Rare Malt 29 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

One of the few official bottlings of Glenury Royal released at 29 years old within the famous Rare Malts Selection.  

Distilled in 1970 and bottled in the October 1999 out-turn.

Glenlochy 1980 Signatory Vintage 32 Year Old

There are not many Glenlochy bottlings around. Signatory Vintage bottled this one in July 2012 as a 32 year old, after spending time in Refill butt #1759

Look at this whisky.  This incredibly rich looking Glenrothes was distilled in 1979 and bottled by Adelphi in 1999 from cask 17035.
