Karuizawa 1984 29 Year Old Single Cask #7802

From this incredibly popular lost Japanese distillery, which has produced so many internationally acclaimed malts.

Distilled in 1984 and bottled from a Spanish oak sherry butt #7802 in 2014.

This release was exclusive to the Norwegian market. 

Brora 1972 Rare Malt 22 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is an historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

It is often said that 1972 Broras are exceptional, there are five Rare Malt Brora 1972s and this is an example of one of them. The 1972 continued to be an important vintage when Diageo released the recent 40 year old with the same vintage. 

Since its closure in 1983 the popularity of Brora has soared, this is an oppertunity to own an key part of both it's history and popularity. 

Karuizawa 1982 30 Year Old Single Cask #8497

Another new single cask Karuizawa for us, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2012 from a single first fill bourbon cask #8497.

This single cask Karuizawa was exclusive to The Whisky Exchange and features their own Koi label design.

Kawasaki 1976 Ichiro's Choice

One of the very rare bottlings of Kawasaki by Ichirio Akuto. Only a handful of single casks have ever been bottled from this lost Japanese grain distillery.

This 1976 vintage was released in 2009 from refill sherry butts.

This is bottle number 274 of 432.

Another cracking single cask from Karuizawa, distilled in 1981 and bottled 30 years later on the 12th September 2011.

Kawasaki 1981 Ichiro's Choice 

One of the very rare bottlings of Kawasaki by Ichirio Akuto. Only a handful of single casks have ever been bottled from this lost Japanese grain distillery.

This 1981 vintage was released in 2009 from refill sherry butts.

Karuizawa 1990 22 Year Old Single Cask #679

A rare single cask Karuizawa bottled in 2012 bottled at cask strength for The Whisky Exchange, from a single first fill sherry butt #679.

Please note the damage to the front of the box, where a label has been removed, Although these were not the original boxes as the boxes were added for the UK market by the Whisky Exchange. 

Ben Wyvis 1965 Final Bottling 37 Year Old

The final bottling from one of the last five casks of Ben Wyvis. Distilled on the 17th of June 1965 before the distillery ceased production in 1976 this whisky was matured for 37 years. 

Bottle number 66 of 200 from cask number 300066.

Talisker 1981 20 Year Old

Bottled in 2002 as part of Diageo's Super Premium release.  This Talisker, distilled in 1981 has quickly become very desirable - no thanks to Jim Murray who scored this 95 points and making the comment 'Miss this and your life will be incomplete'. 

Matured in a sherry cask and released as a 20 year old this is bottle number 240 of 9,000.

Karuizawa 1997 Rare Vintage Single Cask #7815

A single cask Karuizawa bottled exclusively for Isetan Shinjuku.

Distilled in 1997 and matured for 16 years in cask #7815.

Ben Wyvis 1972 27 Year Old / The Final Resurrection

This is one of the final bottlings Invergordon distillers released and this particlular botlting was for the Japanese market. Distilled in 1972 prior to the distillery ceasing production in 1976. 

This is from cask 745. 

Bottle number 126 of 187. 

Brora 32 Year Old 2011 Release

The 2011 release of Brora by Diageo, was the first official bottling of Brora over the age of 30.

This is bottle number 1236 of 1,500.

Karuizawa 15 Year Old

Prior to the distilery closing and the stock being sold to Number One Drinks, the distillery was owned by Mercian wine company which is when this 15 year old was released. 

Talisker 1977 35 Year Old

A 35 year old Talisker distilled in 1977 and released in 2012.

Matured in a combination of refill American and European oak casks.

Bottle number 2548 of 3090.

Bunnahabhain 1965 Single Cask 35 Year Old

Distilled in November 1965 and then matured in a sherry cask this was then bottled in April 2001 for that year's Feis Ile. 

Widely considered as one of the finest Bunnahabhains ever. 

One of 594 bottles.

Brora 1977 Douglas Laing 26 Year Old

A rare single cask Brora distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2003 by Douglas Laing, within their Old and Rare collection.

One of 228 bottles.

Karuizawa 1991 and 1997 Noh Single Casks 2 x 20cl

Karuizawa 1991 Noh Single Cask 20cl : Distilled in 1991 then matured in a sherry butt prior to bottling in 2010. A 19 year old at  60.8% ABV.

Karuizawa  1997 Noh Single Cask 20cl : Distilled in 1997 then matured in a sherry butt prior to bottling in 2010. A 13 year old at  60.2% ABV.

Bowmore 1985 26 year old

This is a small batch 1985 Bowmore that was bottled in 2012. 

One of 747 bottles. 

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #4

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Seven traditional whisky casks and three sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

The expression has been exclusively created for the travel retail market and consists of the casks shown below.

Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch #2

A marriage of 9 American Oak casks and 3 European Oak Sherry casks created the second limited edition Balvenie Tun 1858, for the Taiwanese market. A limited release of only 2,600 bottles this has rarely been seen at auction.

As with the Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1858.  The vintages range from 1966 and 1975.

Bowmore 1988 Feis Ile 2013

Released at Feis Ile 2013, this 24 year old Bowmore was fully matured in a first fill bourbon cask.

This is one of 300 bottles. 

Komagatake 1988 Single Cask #555

A very rare single cask release from The Shinsu Mars distillery, which stopped production in 1992. Shinsu Mars restarted production recently in 2011.

This 1988 vintage single cask was distilled in March 1988 and bottled in September 2013 from a single American White Oak cask #555. 

Limited edition number 468.

Bruichladdich 36 Year Old DNA

Bottled in December 2008 this is a 36 year old Bruichladdich, that was matured in 80% bourbon and 20% sherry prior to a Chateau Le Pin Finish. 

In Jim McEwan's words, this represents \"The precious legacy of those who went before us; a tribute to our past and a celebration of what is to come.\"

Bottle number 385 of 900.

Bruichladdich ​Octomores Futures 'The Beast'

Distilled on 9th November 2004 and bottled in April 2011 the futures releases were only ever available at Bruichladdich distillery.

Peated to a massive 167 ppm, malted using Optic barley and matured in a bourbon cask.  

No wonder it's named 'The Beast'

Brora 1982 Douglas Laing 22 Year Old

Distilled in 1982 and bottled 2004, this is a single sherry cask matured Brora and was bottled at 50% abv. 

One of 664 bottles. 

Bunnahabhain 1968 Jack Wiebers Tempelritter 42 Year Old

A very rare 42 year old Bunnahabhain selected and bottled by Jack Wiebers for Monnier Trading. 

Matured in a refill sherry cask #12404 and limited to only 180 bottles.

Tullibardine 1965 Single Cask

Distilled in 1965 and bottled in May 2005. 

Bottle number 13 of 199. 

Talisker 30 Year Old 2012 Release

Released in 2012, this is a 30 year old Talisker limited to just 3186 bottles.

This is bottle number 2923.

Tobermory 1972 Oloroso Sherry Finish 32 Year Old

If you love heavily sherried whiskies this is certainly up your street, it's big, bold and rich!

Distilled at Tobermory, the only distillery on the Isle of Mull in 1972 and bottled on 18th May 2005.  The whisky was finished in Oloroso sherry casks.

Bottle number 750 of 902, includes certificate of authenticity.

Bruichladdich Legacy Series Batch #6 34 Year Old

Bruichladdich released the Legacy series from 2002 until 2007, this is the sixth release and was distilled in 1972 then bottled in 2007.
