Brora 1972 Rare Malt 22 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is an historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

It is often said that 1972 Broras are exceptional, there are five Rare Malt Brora 1972s and this is an example of one of them. The 1972 continued to be an important vintage when Diageo released the recent 40 year old with the same vintage. 

Since its closure in 1983 the popularity of Brora has soared, this is an oppertunity to own an key part of both it's history and popularity. 

Ben Wyvis 1965 Final Bottling 37 Year Old

The final bottling from one of the last five casks of Ben Wyvis. Distilled on the 17th of June 1965 before the distillery ceased production in 1976 this whisky was matured for 37 years. 

Bottle number 66 of 200 from cask number 300066.

Ben Wyvis 1972 27 Year Old / The Final Resurrection

This is one of the final bottlings Invergordon distillers released and this particlular botlting was for the Japanese market. Distilled in 1972 prior to the distillery ceasing production in 1976. 

This is from cask 745.

Brora 32 Year Old 2011 Release

The 2011 release of Brora by Diageo, was the first official bottling of Brora over the age of 30.

This is bottle number 1236 of 1,500.

Bunnahabhain 1965 Single Cask 35 Year Old

Distilled in November 1965 and then matured in a sherry cask this was then bottled in April 2001 for that year's Feis Ile. 

Widely considered as one of the finest Bunnahabhains ever. 

One of 594 bottles.

Brora 1977 Douglas Laing 26 Year Old

A rare single cask Brora distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2003 by Douglas Laing, within their Old and Rare collection.

One of 228 bottles.

Bowmore 1985 26 year old

This is a small batch 1985 Bowmore that was bottled in 2012. 

One of 747 bottles. 

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #4

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Seven traditional whisky casks and three sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

The expression has been exclusively created for the travel retail market and consists of the casks shown below.

Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch #2

A marriage of 9 American Oak casks and 3 European Oak Sherry casks created the second limited edition Balvenie Tun 1858, for the Taiwanese market. A limited release of only 2,600 bottles this has rarely been seen at auction.

As with the Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1858.  The vintages range from 1966 and 1975.

Bowmore 1988 Feis Ile 2013

Released at Feis Ile 2013, this 24 year old Bowmore was fully matured in a first fill bourbon cask.

This is one of 300 bottles. 

Bruichladdich 36 Year Old DNA

Bottled in December 2008 this is a 36 year old Bruichladdich, that was matured in 80% bourbon and 20% sherry prior to a Chateau Le Pin Finish. 

In Jim McEwan's words, this represents \"The precious legacy of those who went before us; a tribute to our past and a celebration of what is to come.\"

Bottle number 385 of 900.

Bruichladdich ​Octomores Futures 'The Beast'

Distilled on 9th November 2004 and bottled in April 2011 the futures releases were only ever available at Bruichladdich distillery.

Peated to a massive 167 ppm, malted using Optic barley and matured in a bourbon cask.  

No wonder it's named 'The Beast'

Brora 1982 Douglas Laing 22 Year Old

Distilled in 1982 and bottled 2004, this is a single sherry cask matured Brora and was bottled at 50% abv. 

One of 664 bottles. 

Bunnahabhain 1968 Jack Wiebers Tempelritter 42 Year Old

A very rare 42 year old Bunnahabhain selected and bottled by Jack Wiebers for Monnier Trading. 

Matured in a refill sherry cask #12404 and limited to only 180 bottles.

Convalmore 1978 Rare Malt 24 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1978 and bottled in April 2003 as a 24 year old.

Clynelish 12 Year Old 1980s Ainslie & Heilbron

A 1980s bottling of Clynelish by Ainslie & Heilbron Distillers but bottled by Gordon and MacPhail, making it a semi-official bottling. 

Craigellachie 14 Year Old Flora and Fauna Centenary

A rare and discontinued entry to this classic series of whiskies produced by Diageo.

This bottle was specially released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of recorded whisky production at this Speyside distillery in 1991.

Caol Ila 15 Year Old Decanter / Bulloch Lade

A 15 year old Decanter that was released for the Italian market.

Bruichladdich released the Legacy series from 2002 until 2007, this is the fifth release and was distilled in 1972 then bottled in September 2006. 

Limited to 1,690 bottles.

Distilled November 1972 and bottled May 2011. 

One of 439 bottles. 

Bowmore Devil's Cask 10 Year Old Batch #2

This, Devil's Cask is the second bottling in the incredibly popular Devil's Cask Small Batch Releases.  This small batch release was matured exclusively in first fill Sherry casks and bottled at cask strength.

\"Where The Devil is He?\" - The story goes the devil was spotted in the circular church at Bowmore, the villagers chased the devil into Bowmore Distillery where, as legend goes, the devil escaped in a cask.

Bowmore 1989 Port Cask Matured 23 Year Old

An remarkable bottling of Bowmore which has spent all of it's 23 years in casks which previously held Port.

Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2013.

Caperdonich 1968 Hart Brothers 32 Year Old

Distilled in December 1968 and bottled in July 2001, this is from closed Dufftown distillery Caperdonich. 

Caperdonich 1972 Duncan Taylor 36 Year Old

Distilled November 1972 and bottled September 2009, this 36 year old whisky was bottled from cask #7446.

Bruichladdich 1984 Golder Still 23 Year Old

Continuing the \"still\" series, this is the Golder Still, a Bruichladdich matured in experimental casks from American cooperages in the 1980s. These Squat American Bourbon casks give extra wood contact.

Braeval/Braes Of Glenlivet 1979 Signatory 16 Year Old

Braes Of Glenlivet now know as Braeval distilled this in June 1979 and the whisky was then matured in sherry butt number 16045 before being bottled February 1996.

Craigduff 1973 Signatory Vintage 38 Year Old 

A very rare experimental whisky, produced at Strathisla distillery using heavily peated malt.  Occasionally there has been some controversy over the origin of Craigduff and some people have suggested it was actually produced at Glen Keith distillery, wherever it was produced it is extremely rare as only a handful of casks have ever been bottled independantly by Signatory Vintage.

Distilled on the 4th April 1973 and bottled on 25th August  2005, this 32 year old Craigduff was matured exclusively in a sherry butt, cask #2513.

Craigellachie 1973 Rare Malts 22 Year Old Limited Edition

The Rare Malts are a Limited Edition series of cask-strength single malts, issued, and designed by Diagio to show off some of the lesser known distilleries in their empire, these bottlings are sought after by collectors and drinkers alike.  

This 22 year old Craigellachie was distilled in 1973 and is bottle no. 2406, bottled in 1995.

In original box, level is in the neck, entire package is pristine with the exception to the slight knock against the cap.

Benriach 1975 Single Cask 33 Year Old Peated Tawny Port Finish

This is a heavily peated expression from Benriach. 

Distilled in 1975 and then bottled in July 2009 after finishing in a Tawny Port.
