Flora and Fauna Complete Collection 26 Bottles / Wooden Boxes

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

All of the bottles that were available with wooden boxes are collected here, Strathmill, Auchriosk, Glen Spey and Glen Elgin were never available with these boxes.

Glenfarclas 1963 / William & Son Cabinet

A very exclusive item containing Glenfarclas 1963 Family Cask presented in a rifle and shotgun cleaning kit created by William & Son, London.

William & Son are crafters of shotguns and rifles and this kit has been created to their exceptional standards. 

The Glenfarclas Family Cask was distillled in 1963 and bottled in October 2011, matured in in Sherry Hogshead number 179. 

Only 20 of these stunning cabinets were produced.

Glendronach 1972 Single Cask 40 Year Old

Distilled in February 1972 and then bottled in March 2013 from single cask number 704 which was an Oloroso sherry butt. Bottled for Spirit Empire in China.

Glen Flagler 1973 30 Year Old

A very rare bottling of this long lost distillery that was once part of the Moffat distilling complex.  

This 30 year old official release from Inverhouses is a combination of the five  last remaining casks of Glen Flagler that belonged to Inverhouse.

A release of only 931 bottles this is bottle number 470.

Includes a lovely wooden box and certificate of authenticity.

Ardbeg Guaranteed 30 Year Old 

Bottled in 1996, this 'Guaranteed' 30 year old Ardbeg was one of the last releases by Allied distillers before Glenmorangie's Takeover in 1997.

This relese of 30 year old Ardbeg was limited to only 29 casks.

Ardbeg 2000 Lord Robertson Single Cask

A very rare bottling of Ardbeg bottled to commemorate Lord Robertson of Islay, a former Nato Secretary General.  

This cask was laid down on 27th April 2000 when Lord Robertson visited the distillery, for the charity Erskine.

Filled into bottle on 6th June 2010 from cask number #1217, this is bottle number 48.

Ardbeg Kildalton 1980

Quite simply a legendary Ardbeg released in 2004, this was a combination of experimental unpeated Ardbeg and lightly peated Ardbeg.  It is known that between 1979 and 1981 these experiements took place.

Only a mere 1,300 bottles of Kildalton were bottled and it is certainly a popular collectors item now.

Glenglassaugh 1972 Single Cask 38 Year Old

A recent old release from the long closed but now reopened distillery, selected by Andrea Caminneci for Germany.

Distilled in May 1972 then matured in a refill butt numbered 2891 for 38 years.

Named after the 'Lord of the Isles' who ruled the Western Isles and parts of Argyll between the 12th and 15th Centuries.

Glenrothes John Ramsay

Selected by the retiring malt master John Ramsay after 43 years of service, this bottling came from a vatting of twenty, second fill American oak sherry casks racked into sherry butts. The two best casks were then vatted together.

Glenfarclas 1966 Douglas Laing Probably Speyside's Finest

\"Probably Speyside's Finest\" is \"probably\" code for Glenfarclas. 

This was distilled in June 1966 and bottled in August 2008 after 42 years in a sherry butt. There is no \"probably\" about this being awesome.

An older George T Stagg released at their usual impressive strength, this time 70.6% ABV. 

This was one of three releases from 2005, this came out after September and was comprised of barrels over 15 years. 

This was named \"World Whiskey of The Year\" by Jim Murray in the \"2005 Whisky Bible\".

An elegant 50cl bottle of Glenmorangie, distilled in 1974 using malt from Glenmorangie's original floor maltings, which have since closed, bottled in 1999 before the millenium.

This is bottle number 958 of 2,000.

Glengoyne 1967 The Middle Cut

Distilled in 1967 and the bottled in 1997 this highly limited Glengoyne is presented in a spirit safe style locked box. 

During distillation all spirit comes through the spirit safe, this is cut into three, the head, the heart and the tail. The head and the tail are essentially unusable \"the middle cut\" is what goes on to become whisky.

The Perpetuum is only available at Ardbeg distillery and is estimated to be restricted to around 12,000 bottles.

The seller will receive payment within 21 working days of the end of the auction, directly to their chosen bank account. Seller fees will be applied to the seller’s invoice after the auction.
