Flora and Fauna Complete Collection 26 Bottles / Wooden Boxes

The Flora and Fauna series of whiskies was originally created in the early 1990s by United Distillers Vintners (what would later become Diageo).  Originally this range had no name and it was not until the famous whisky writer Michael Jackson nicknamed it the 'Flora and Fauna' series due to the labels, did it stick.  The Flora and Fauna series, as offered in this lot, contains a total of 26 distillery expressions. Not all of these were released at the same time and many have now been discontinued, the last of which was to be the Mortlach 16 year old, perhaps the most loved of all of these whiskies.

All of the bottles that were available with wooden boxes are collected here, Strathmill, Auchriosk, Glen Spey and Glen Elgin were never available with these boxes.

Ichiro's Blend for Isetan (Hanyu and Kawasaki)

An exclusive blend produced by Ichiro Akuto the owner of Chichibu distillery and the man responsible for bringing Hanyu and Karuizawa casks to the market.  

This blend was produced for Isetan, Singapore and is a blend of Hanyu and Kawasaki both closed distilleries.  Aged between 12 and 35 years old, released October 2012.

Convalmore 1978 Rare Malt 24 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1978 and bottled in April 2003 as a 24 year old.

Clynelish 12 Year Old 1980s Ainslie & Heilbron

A 1980s bottling of Clynelish by Ainslie & Heilbron Distillers but bottled by Gordon and MacPhail, making it a semi-official bottling. 

Craigellachie 14 Year Old Flora and Fauna Centenary

A rare and discontinued entry to this classic series of whiskies produced by Diageo.

This bottle was specially released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of recorded whisky production at this Speyside distillery in 1991.

Caol Ila 15 Year Old Decanter / Bulloch Lade

A 15 year old Decanter that was released for the Italian market.

A Cadenhead bottling of a 1975 vintage Demerrara rum from Guyana.

Clynelish 1972 Single Malts of Scotland 38 Year Old

Distilled November 1972 and bottled May 2011. 

One of 439 bottles. 

Caperdonich 1968 Hart Brothers 32 Year Old

Distilled in December 1968 and bottled in July 2001, this is from closed Dufftown distillery Caperdonich. 

Caperdonich 1972 Duncan Taylor 36 Year Old

Distilled November 1972 and bottled September 2009, this 36 year old whisky was bottled from cask #7446.

Please note that there are slight scuff marks to the side of the box. 

Craigduff 1973 Signatory Vintage 38 Year Old 

A very rare experimental whisky, produced at Strathisla distillery using heavily peated malt.  Occasionally there has been some controversy over the origin of Craigduff and some people have suggested it was actually produced at Glen Keith distillery, wherever it was produced it is extremely rare as only a handful of casks have ever been bottled independantly by Signatory Vintage.

Distilled on the 4th April 1973 and bottled on 25th August  2005, this 32 year old Craigduff was matured exclusively in a sherry butt, cask #2513.

Craigellachie 1973 Rare Malts 22 Year Old Limited Edition

The Rare Malts are a Limited Edition series of cask-strength single malts, issued, and designed by Diagio to show off some of the lesser known distilleries in their empire, these bottlings are sought after by collectors and drinkers alike.  

This 22 year old Craigellachie was distilled in 1973 and is bottle no. 2406, bottled in 1995.

In original box, level is in the neck, entire package is pristine with the exception to the slight knock against the cap.

Chichibu 2008 Ichiro's Malt The First

The first whisky (aged three year old) released from Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery. Showcased at the 2011 Whisky Show then released in UK in early 2012.

A 1979 vintage from closed Lowland distillery Inverleven, bottled in 1994 by Elgin's independent bottlers Gordon and Macphail.

Coleburn 1981 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in 1981 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail in 2006.

Coleburn is one of the numerous distilleries that failed to survive the 1980s \"cull\". The distillery equipment is gone so there is no chance of resurrection for this Speyside distillery.

Chieftain's Choice 1967 Lowland 25 Year Old

Mystery Lowland malt from Ian MacLeod from 1967, there were a couple more to choose from back then.

Chichibu 2008 Single Cask / Cask Sample

A very early single malt from Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery. 

Distilled in April 2008 (the year the distillery became operational) and bottled May 2011. 

Matured in cask number 26 which was a first fill American oak barrel. 

Invergordon1965 Duncan Taylor 39 Year Old

A Duncan Taylor bottling of Invergordon distilled in December 1965 and bottled in September  2005 , from single cask #15509.

Bottle number 23 of 255. 

Cooley 1992 Cadenhead's 21 Year Old

Cadenhead's also bottle Irish whiskey. 

This is a bourbon barrel matured 21 year old Cooley bottled July 2013. 

One of 210 Bottles. 

Compass Box Double Single / Craigellachie Hotel 

Created and blended for Duncan Elphic and Tatsuya Mingawa of the Craigellachie hotel, this is one single malt (near Brora) and one single grain (Cambus) blended together. 

This original bottling has now become a regular bottling from Compass box.

Imperial 1979 Signatory Vintage 22 Year Old

Signatory Vintage bottled this Imperial on the 8th January 2002, it was originally distilled on the 128th November 1979.

Matured in two hogheads #9594 which yielded 285 bottles, this is number 71.

Compass Box Double Single / Craigellachie Hotel 

Created and blended for Duncan Elphic and Tatsuya Mingawa of the Craigellachie hotel, this is one single malt (near Brora) and one single grain (Cambus) blended together.

Coleburn 1972 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in 1972 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail in 2000.

Coleburn is yet another of the many distilleries that didn’t make it through the 1980s, the production equipment is now gone so this will never produce again.

A single cask Adelphi bottling of Inchgower.

Distilled May 1980 then bottled May 2010, a single cask bottling at cask strength.
