You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Hankey Bannister 40 Year Old 250th Anniversary
The story of this classic name in blended whisky begins in 1757 when Beaumont Hankey and Hugh Bannister launched a wine and spirits business in London's West End. Like most merchants of the day, they decide to create their own blended Scotch whisky which would carry their names. The blend slowly gained a strong following and would go on to become a favourite of King George V, who awarded the company a Royal Warrant in 1901. In a bizarre but savvy marketing move in 1939, the company recruited designer Ted Geisel, of Doctor Seuss fame, to rebrand the image of the company in the United Sates. He created \"The Hankey Bird,\" a kilt-wearing cartoon character with a large beak, although mercifully the creation was short-lived. Among other beverages, Hankey Bannister was also a solid favourite of Sir Winston Churchill through the years of the second world war, and was later supplied to Officers of Her Majesty's Services and the Diplomatic Core. The brand was purchased by Inver House Distillers in 1988 (today International Beverage) and has become a huge success in Eastern markets such as Thailand.
This beautifully presented decanter contains a 40 year old blend. Discovered in the Hankey Bannister warehouses by Stuart Harvey, it contains rare whiskies from Garnheath, Killyloch and Glen Flagler and had been further maturing in Spanish oak casks for 35 years.
One of 1917 bottles released in 2007 for the 250th anniversary of the brand.
