Bidding advice
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
Incremental Bidding Explained
Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.
Bottle Details
Clydeside Stobcross
When it opened in late 2017, the Clydeside distillery became the first malt whisky distillery on the banks of Glasgow’s river Clyde since Kinclaith was dismantled in 1975. The mastermind behind the operation was ex-Morrison Bowmore and current proprietor of the A.D. Rattray Scotch Whisky Company, Tim Morrison. A project close to his heart, the distillery is located in the old Pump House building on Stobcross Road, built by his great-grandfather’s Morrison & Mason in 1877. Having been used as the site of the Tall Ship museum and various restaurants since the historic Queen’s Dock was filled-in in the 1970s, the Pump House was eventually purchased by Morrison Glasgow Distillers in 2011. Initially intended to be named the Glasgow distillery, delays to the project saw them lose out on the title to the Glasgow Distillery Company in nearby Hillington, and construction work began on what is now the Clydeside distillery instead in 2014. The distillery takes its water from Loch Katrine and is equipped with two copper stills crafted by Forsyths of Moray. First to take the helm of production was ex-Auchentoshan manager, Alistair McDonald, and in late 2021 the distillery debuted its first single malt, Stobcross.
This single malt was matured in American oak and European oak casks for almost 4 years.
