Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's is a chain of American grocery stores, founded in 1967 by Joe Coulombe in Pasadena, California. The company is headquartered in Monrovia, California but is today owned by the German supermarket giant, Aldi Nord, the founder of which (Theo Albrecht) acquired Trader Joe's in 1979 and passed it on to his heirs in 2010.

The company specialises in its own branded produce which all bear the Trader Joe's name. Among these have included whiskies over the years, including single cask Scotch selected from the warehouses of Duncan Taylor and Alexander Murray & Co.
