Scotch Universe GmbH is an unusual independent bottling company headquartered in Dülmen, Germany. It was founded in 2016 by Alexander Springensguth and Michel Reick and is bottlings are notable for being named after various celestial stars and labelled with fictional coordinates that actually represent a code to decipher information about each whisky. The company also has another brand called The Old Friends.
Originally the business had a UK-based arm called Scotch Universe UK Ltd that handled its casks and bottling, established in 2020. However, it was rebranded in 2021 as Brave New Spirits.
