Scotch Malt Sales Co is a Japanese importer and independent bottler. It was first established as an advertising agency called Oscar Co in 1971, eventually merging with Takaraya Shoji Co in 1982 and changing its name. Its launched a mail order service for whisky six years later, eventually transitioning into independent bottling in the 1990s as well.
The company continues to market its own-branded Scotch whisky releases alongside a regular offering of exclusive releases from distillers and bottlers that it represents in Japan.
