Low, Robertson & Co
Low, Robertson & Co was a Scottish blending company established in 1812. It was incorporated in 1902 as a subsidiary of the Distillers Company Limited, and it was operational for most of the 20th century. When DCL revived the Port Ellen distillery in 1967 they assigned the license for it to Low, Robertson & Co, however the company was eventually dissolved by United Distillers.
Blends in the Low, Robertson & Co portfolio included Old Guns, Loretto and Gold Shot. Despite managing Port Ellen distillery, the company never marketed its single malt and produced only a single bottling in 1980 to mark the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to the maltings next-door in August that year.
