John McEwan & Co was a Scottish whisky blender founded in 1863. The company became part of the Distillers Company Limited in 1937 and operated as a subsidiary of it and then United Distillers before it was finally dissolved by Diageo in 2010.
The company is best-known for its Abbot's Choice and Chequers blends, and it also bottled early examples of the Linkwood single malt brand after being grant the license to the distillery by DCL.
