McAfee's Benchmark
McAfee Brothers Benchmark is an introductory-level bourbon brand within the Sazerac Company portfolio, which it distils and bottles at its Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The brand was launched in 1986 as Seagram's Benchmark, but was sold by the Canadian distiller to the Sazerac Company in 1989. It was renamed McAfee's Benchmark as an homage to the McAfee brothers, James, George and Robert, who surveyed the Frankfort area in 1753.
The brand was relaunched as McAfee Brothers Benchmark in 2020 and its core range comprises standard small batch, single barrel, bottled in bond and full proof expressions, and a product called Top Floor which is specially botted from barrels selected from the upper rickhouse floors.
