Lot No.40
Lot No.40 is a brand of Canadian whisky, produced using 100% rye grain at the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Ontario. It was designed by the distillery's former master blender, Michael Booth, who named it after the plot of land once owned by his forefather, Joshua Booth, a Canadian pioneer, politician and distiller. The recipe was intended to evoke the style he would have once produced.
The brand was originally launched in 1998 by Corby Distilleries as part of its Canadian Whisky Guild, alongside Pike Creek and Gooderham & Worts Ltd. Although the collection was discontinued, Lot No.40 proved a hit with connoisseurs and was returned to market under Pernod Ricard ownership in 2012. The current proprietary release is pot-distilled from entirely unmalted rye and since 2017 is again partnered with its former sister-brands, now known as the Norther Border Collection.
