Longmorn is a popular Speyside distillery, and an essential component in many blends over the years. Launched in 2012, That Boutique-y Whisky Company is an independent bottler and subsidiary of the Atom Group in Kent, England. Their releases are notable for their use of comic book style graphic labels, often with irreverent industry jokes concealed within them. Their catalogue is hugely expansive, covering whiskies from all over the world, and they are now joined by sister companies who bottle Gin and Rum.

Dalwhinnie 1986 Distillers Edition D.SI.312 1 Litre 

Dalwhinnie was one of the six original Classic Malts when they were selected by DCL (now Diageo) back in 1988, and it was tipped to become the favourite among consumers on account of its flawless floral flavours and elegant character. Although eventually pipped at the post by the smoky dark horse that was the Lagavulin 16 year old, it remains a well-loved single malt. The distillery is both the highest and coldest in Scotland, contributing to its unique flavour through the rapid condensing that occurs in its worm tubs.  

Launched in 1997, the Distillers Edition range are cask finished variations on the Classic Malts. This is the second release of this double matured series from Dalwhinnie, and was finished in Oloroso cask wood.

Dufftown 8 Year Old 1980s

Dufftown was built in 1896, becoming part of the Arthur Bell & Sons portfolio in 1933. As with Blair Athol, Dufftown was regularly bottled as a single malt, despite its importance to the Bell's blends. When the company was bought by Guinness in 1985, these bottlings stopped, but a Dufftown distillery bottling returned in 1991 as part of United Distillers’ Flora & Fauna series, later becoming part of The Singleton stable. Lochindaal 9 Year Old That Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #1

Lochindaal is another of the Bruichladdich single malts, on this occasion peated to 50ppm+, which is heavier than Port Charlotte, but less so than Octomore. It was created in 2007 by Jim McEwan, who was seeking to replicate the flavour profile of the historic Lochindaal distilley on Islay, closed since 1929 but in its time located just 2 miles from Bruichladdich. In the end, the distilley decided against a permanent production schedule for Lochindaal, fearing a fourth single malt brand may lead to consumer confusion. Lochindaal single malt was distilled twice, once in 2007 and again in 2009. On the second occasion however, some spirit was stored in a neutral vessel and casked the following year, meaning there are rare examples on the market which display a 2010 vintage in reference to the in-cask date.

Longmorn 1999 Cask Strength 15 Year Old Batch #10

Longmorn is a popular Speyside distillery, and an essential component in many blends over the years. As such, much of its production is reserved for this purpose and although distillery bottlings first appeared in the 1980s, it was rarely seen before the 15 year old expression was relaunched in 1993. The distillery has long been prominent on the independent scene however, and has cult following in Japan, perhaps in no small part to its connection with Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru, who modelled the stills at Yoichi on those at Longmorn.
