Laphroaig 40 Year Old

Distilled in 1960, this 40 year old was the official release following the 1960 vintage 40 year old at Oddbins.

The casks were matured in Warehouse #1 for 40 years, prior to bottling on 29th May 2001.  A mere 3,300 bottles of this Laphroaig 40 year old were made available and it remains the oldest official release of Laphroaig to date.

This is bottle number 1354.

Suntory 25 Year Old / Razkan 

A very rare and limited bottling from Suntory.  Only 150 bottles of this were released exclusively for Liquor Mountain, Japan.

Bottled in 2015, at 25 years old this is bottle number 124 of 150.

Springbank 1965 Milroy's 29 Year Old

This is a wonderful lot, Springbank distilled in 1965 and matured for 29 years in what can only be described as a rich sherry cask.

Bottle by Milroy's and imported into the US int he mid 1990s.

26 2/3rd fluid ounces and 70 proof.

Presented in this wooden box, Laphroaig 30 year old was originally released in 2000.  

We rarely see well aged official bottlings from Islay, this well aged Laphroaig has only been out-matured by the 40 year old releases.

A very old Laphroaig 10 year old bottled in the late 1970s.  

Has both metric and imperial markings.

Linkwood 1964 Signatory Vintage 32 Year Old

Distilled in 11th of May 1964 and bottled on the 14th of May 1996 by Signatory Vintage. 

This 32 year old was matured single cask #1860.

Strathisla 1960 Gordon and Macphail 

Distilled in 1960 and then bottled in 2008.

Gordon and Macphail offer perhaps the most comprehensive range of aged whiskies, dating back as far as the 1930s.  This is a very rich and impressive looking Strahtisla, aged for almost 50 years in the cask!

Springbank 1964 Samaroli 15 Year Old / Original 1979 Release

This legendary bottling company was established in 1968 by Silvano Samaroli, Bologna, Italy.

Samaroli has produced hundreds if not thousands of single cask independantly bottled whiskies, many of which are highly acclaimed.  This is an iconic bottling from the first release under the Samaroli name, in 1979.  These bottles are all numbered and rarely ever seen at auction.

This is one of six bottlings from this famous collection, currently under the hammer in our March 2016 auction.

Licorerias Bonaparte / Bonaparte Pepe Botella 1900 / 1960s

Brandy produced Licorerias Bonaparte in Malaga is a distillation of wine from the harvest of 1900. These were then aged in oak. The label depicts a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte. This was bottled in the late 1960s.

Lagavulin 1979 Distillers Edition / First Release

A bottle of the first ever distillers edition which was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997.

Finished in Pedro Ximenez casks.

This 2015 release is a special exclusive Suntory release for classy Japanese supermarket Shinanoya. 

Included in the blend are old mizunara casked Yamazaki going back as far as 1984. 

The logo was designed by famed Japanese calligrapher Master Shoshu.

Ledaig 1972 Gordon and Macphail

A Gordon and Macphail bottling of Ledaig, distilled in 1972 and bottled 10 years later.

Springbank 1979 15 Year Old

An 1995 bottle of Springbank 15 year distilled in 1979 and presented in a wooden box. 

Shinshu Mars Komagatake 22 Year Old

A 22 year old release from The Shinshu Mars distillery, which stopped production in 1992. Shinshu Mars restarted production recently in 2011.

Ladyburn 8 Year Old

The Ladyburn Distillery was built in 1966 by William Grant & Sons Ltd and only operated for a very short period until November 15th 1975.  

There have been very few bottlings from Ladyburn, this official 8 year old was released during the 1990s, well after the closure - there is some debate as to the origin of this whisky , as it is a 'Pure Malt'.  It seems to be widely accepted as a single malt from this lost distillery rather than a blended malt carrying the distilleries name.
