Bruichladdich Stills Collection (3 x 70cl)

Bruichladdich 1986 Blacker Still
Bruichladdich released the Blacker Still in 2006, matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks for almost 20 years.  This was the first release in the ‘Still’ series and quickly became an icon of collectible Bruichladdich.

Bruichladdich 1984 Redder Still
Released following the success of the Blacker Still, the Redder Still was bottled in 2007. Aged for 22 years in bourbon casks followed by Château Lafleur Pomerol wine casks, giving this whisky a tinted red colour.

Bruichladdich 1984 Golder Still
The final release in the Stills series, the Golder Still was distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2008.  Matured for 23 years in bourbon ‘squat’ hogsheads, this experimental dumpier cask was used by American coopers for a brief period.  In theory this smaller shorter cask has benefited from a high surface area and therefore more contact with the oak.

A 30 year old Brora released as part of the 'special release' series in 2006 by Diageo.

Bottled 1955 of 2130 bottle

Distilled in 1972 and bottled on the 8^th May 2002, this 30 year old was matured in a single bourbon cask #9. 

Originally only available at Bruichladdich distillery, this is packaged in a hessian bag and is signed by Jim McEwan.

Bottle number 168 of 250.

Not officially released these sample gift packs of Macallan’s new range of whiskies have become quite desirable.  Four miniatures (5cl) of:

Macallan Gold (bottled at 40%)
Macallan Amber (bottled at 40%)
Macallan Sienna (bottled at 40%)
Macallan Ruby (bottled at 43%)

These whiskies don’t carry any age statement and are presented with a DVD, tasting cards, glasses and neck tag.

A very famous miniature.  The Macallan Private eye was released to commemorate the 35^th Anniversary of the Private Eye.  

The unique label design on the Private Eye bottlings were created by the famous artist Ralph Steadman.

Bruichladdich Octomore 4.1 or Octomore 4_167

Octomore 4.1 peated to the highest ever peating level of 167 ppm  and aged for 5 years.

There were 15,000 Octomore 4.1 bottled and this one is 7094 of 15,000.

Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2008, 18 years old and matured in sherry casks.

Released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves.  The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, It was very limited, with only 540 bottles available in the UK and no more than 6,000 worldwide.

Bruichladdich 3D Second Edition – The Mòine Mhòr

Released in 2005, the second edition in the 3D range.  Similar to The Peat Proposal this is a combination of three different peating levels, three different ages;1989, 1998 and 2001 and three different cask types, hence the name 3D.

Commissioned for the International Pairs Competition at St Andrew’s, this release as part of the Bruichladdich Links collection.  The Bruichladdich Links were created in association with one of the world’s leading golf artists Graeme. W Baxter. 

Bottled 833 of 9000.

Very minor in-dents on the tin.

The Peat Proposal

Released in 2004, this is the first edition in the 3D range.  It is a combination of three different peating levels; 5ppm, 25ppm and 40ppm, three different ages;1989, 1998 and 2001 and three different cask types; refill bourbon, refill sherry and first fill bourbon, , hence the name 3D.

Only 12,000 bottles were released, this is bottle 7788 of 12,000.

Bottled to celebrate the titan who stole the heavenly fire from Mount Olympus and bestowed it on humankind, allowing the progress of civilization. 

A theft now commemorated today by the Olympic falme, where a fire is kept burning throughout the celebration of the Olympic games. 

Distilled on 27^th April 1990, this single cask from cask #001 is 22 years old and was ‘enhanced’ in a Chateau LaTour cask.  

Bottle number 223 of 400.

At 8.26 am on the 29^th May 2001 spirit flowed through Bruichladdich’s spirit safe, marking it’s re-opening.  This Valinch distilled in 1983 and bottled on the 26^th May 2003 matured in a single Oloroso Sherry Butt  is to commemorate the 1^st anniversary of the re-opening.

Originally only available at Bruichladdich distillery, this is packaged in a hessian bag and is signed by Jim McEwan.

Distilled on 15^th February 1984 a single American Oak cask, cask no #12 was bottled on the 25^th May 2003 to mark the opening of Bruichladdich’s new bottling hall.

Bottled in 1995, this old bottling of Springbank 12 year old as a distinctive red thistle on the label.

Bruichladdich 3D3 Norrie Campbell Tribute

Released in 2006, the third edition in the 3D range.  Dedicated to Norrie Campbell, the last tradition peat cutter to work on the islay bogs who sadly passed away in 2006.

Similar to the previous releases in this range this is a combination of three different peating levels; from Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore making it peatier than the previous releases and three different ages.

Distilled at Benrinnes distillery, this whisky was bottled by the small independant bottler, Lady of the Glen.

These whiskies are single casks, cask strength and non – chill filtered.

This well known bottle of Bowmore 10 year old was produced between 1990 and 1995.  The screen printed label has become well known and desirable, this particular bottle came with a unique Bowmore glass.

Macallan 12 year old sherry matured, now quite difficult to source in the U.K.

The original Oldbury label of Sheep Dip depicting the act of sheep dipping at Oldbury on Severn circa 1900. 

Martin’s V.V.O blended whisky, ‘All Extra Quality’ was bottled at 86.8°Proof.

One Quart = 1.136 litres

Produced by Charles Mackinlay & Co Ltd, this 12 year old was bottled as a tribute to five generations of Mackinlay’s blending experience.

Bruichladdich 3D Third Edition – The Norrie Campbell Tribute Bottling 5cl

Released in 2006, the third edition in the 3D range.  Dedicated to Norrie Campbell, the last tradition peat cutter to work on the islay bogs who sadly passed away in 2006.

Mortlach 1995 Carn Mor 18 Year Old

Mortlach was founded in 1823 and was the first of Dufftown's \"Seven Stills\" to be licensed. It rose to pre-eminence under George Cowie & Son, who's unique distillation regime produced a famously \"meaty\" whisky, which was highly prized by blenders. It was for this reason that it was acquired by John Walker & Sons, and so important to them was it that little stock was left available for bottling as a single malt. The Flora & Fauna release was the first official distillery bottling, but it was not until 2014 that Mortlach was bottled under its own fully fledged single malt brand. Thankfully, there have been many spectacular releases from independent labels like this over the years.

This whisky was distilled in 1995 and matured in two Hogshead casks for 18 years. One of 693 bottles.

This is a Strictly Limited bottling, a small batch and single cask sub-category of Morrison & Mackay's Carn Mor label. Morrison & Mackay are a Perth-based company, producing a number of whisky liqueurs as well as independent single malts and blends, including the popular recently revived Old Perth. In 2017 the firm completed the construction of the Aberargie distillery in the town of the same name.
